XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Ferrari F8 (with hydraulic lift, excl.control system) 2020-2026

Rallying a mid-engined Ferrari F8 sounds like a thought experiment until you remember the 308 GTB Group 4 cars Michelotto built for Pozzi in the early ’80s. The FE10-platform F8 sits on a twin-turbo 3.9-litre V8 with the mass behind the cabin, hydraulic nose-lift on the kerb-clearance side, and a chassis tuned around tarmac precision – not gravel compliance. This coilover set rewrites that brief.

The Gravel Rally specification is the longest-stroke, most compliant damper XYZ Racing builds. It is engineered for sandstone, snow, silt and the kind of high-speed compressions that ordinarily destroy a road-spec strut. If the F8 is heading toward gravel stages, hill climbs on broken surfaces, or a privately campaigned classic-rally homage car, this is the suspension that lets the platform actually work for it.

What this coilover does for your 2020-2026 Ferrari F8

The headline change is wheel travel. The long-stroke inverted-tube layout gives the F8 the suspension stroke a gravel surface demands, so the contact patch stays loaded over compressions instead of skipping off the crest. You feel that as confidence on a rough surface – the car settles, the steering stops fighting back, and the rear axle stops shock-loading the diff over ruts. Long-spring geometry helps the chassis absorb the G-loadings that a mid-engined layout otherwise transmits straight into the seat. Compliance also means the tyres can do what they were designed to do on a loose surface: dig, key in, and rotate the car under throttle rather than scrabbling for grip.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This is XYZ Racing’s gravel-spec damper, developed specifically for Rally and Rally Cross use where road conditions are the most aggressive in motorsport. The inverted tube design is the structural answer to varied surface inputs – sandstone, snow and silt – and gives the damper rod the rigidity needed to survive heavy lateral shock loading at speed. Long stroke and long springs are the two governing principles: stroke absorbs the chassis vibration that comes from attacking broken surfaces at pace, and the spring geometry lets the damper hold the wheel against the ground through fast bouncy sections. Every spring rate in the range is set on the basis of testing carried out by Rally Racing teams, so the rates that come out of the box reflect what works in competition rather than a desk-built guess. The Gravel Rally is the most specialised platform XYZ Racing offer.

Fitment for the Ferrari F8 (2020-2026)

This kit fits the FE10-chassis F8 from 2020 through 2026, in the specification supplied with the OE hydraulic front-end lift system but excluding the active electronic damping control. If your car has the magnetorheological controlled-damper system, this is not the correct kit – check your build sheet before configuring.

A mid-engined Ferrari on a gravel stage is a serious proposition – configure your Gravel Rally spec for the F8 below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
