XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Honda NSX NA1 1990-2005

The NA1 NSX carries its V6 amidships, planting most of its mass over the driven rear axle – exactly where a drag car wants it when the clutch drops. These XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilovers for the Honda NSX NA1 (1990-2005) are set up to work with that rear bias rather than fight it, controlling how the light aluminium chassis loads its rear tyres at launch.

This is a straight-line tool, not a circuit compromise. The Drag Racing valving is tuned for the 0-400 metre run: squat the rear, hook the tyres, and hold the car settled as the high-revving V6 pulls through the top end.

What these coilovers do for your 1990-2005 Honda NSX NA1

Off the line, the setup lets you bias weight rearward so the driven tyres bite instead of spinning. The design forces greater compression into the transmission tyre, cutting the idle moment where revs climb but the car doesn’t move with them. On a light NA1 that already favours its rear axle, that means a cleaner hook and a sharper reaction as the engine comes onto the cam. Through the traps it keeps the aluminium shell stable at speed rather than floating, so the front stays planted enough to steer and the car tracks straight. You set ride height and corner balance to suit a slick or a drag radial, then leave it to do one job well.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing builds the Drag Racing series specifically for the 0-400 metre discipline, with variants to suit front-, rear- and four-wheel-drive cars – the NA1 NSX runs the rear-drive setup. The core idea is controlled weight movement: the damping is calibrated to shift load between the front and rear axles during the launch and the first instants of acceleration, driving more compression into the driven tyre. That extra compression is what reduces wheelspin and shortens the dead time where the wheel spins faster than the car is travelling. At the top of the run the same valving works to keep the vehicle stable at high speed, holding the chassis steady where a softer road damper would let it wander. It is a single-purpose, height-adjustable coilover built around traction off the line and composure through the traps.

Fitment for the Honda NSX NA1 (1990-2005)

This kit is cut for the NA1 chassis Honda NSX across the full 1990 to 2005 production span. It suits the mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout the NSX ran throughout that period. Confirm your exact build year against the configurator before ordering so the correct spec is matched to your car.

What buyers also search for

  • Honda NSX NA1 drag racing coilovers for launch traction and a cleaner sixty-foot
  • NSX NA1 suspension that transfers weight onto the rear tyres off the line
  • Honda NSX height-adjustable coilovers set up for the 0-400 metre run
  • NA1 NSX drag spec that keeps a light aluminium chassis stable through the traps
  • Rear-wheel-drive NSX coilover tuned for slicks or drag radials

Set your ride height and corner balance to suit your slick or drag radial, then build yours below.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
