XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Honda NSX NA1 1990-2005

The NA1 NSX was Honda’s mid-engined answer to the 911, and three decades on it still rewards a driver who can read the rear axle through the seat. What it doesn’t reward is a soft factory damper trying to control a fully-warmed Yokohama on a hot lap at Donington. The Circuit Master is built for exactly that scenario – a transverse VTEC V6 sat behind the bulkhead, a chassis that wants to rotate on lift, and a driver who needs the platform to stay flat through Craner Curves on lap fifteen as it did on lap one.

This is the top of the XYZ Racing range and it’s aimed squarely at sustained circuit work. For an NA1 owner stepping up from a fast-road coilover, the jump is significant – this is the spec the international race programmes ran.

What this coilover does for your 1990-2005 Honda NSX

The Circuit Master gives the NA1 the body control it always deserved at proper track pace. Three independent adjustment knobs let you separate high-speed bump from low-speed bump and rebound, so the kerb-strike behaviour through a chicane no longer dictates how the car behaves on a long, loaded corner. With 9720 distinct damping permutations you can build a baseline for a circuit like Cadwell and a separate one for somewhere flatter and faster like Snetterton without re-shimming anything.

On the NSX specifically, that range matters. The mid-engined weight bias means front and rear want very different things, and the Circuit Master gives you the resolution to set each end independently rather than compromising in the middle. Turn-in sharpens, the rear stops squatting under power out of slow corners, and the front stays planted under the long brake into a hairpin.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s competition-tier damper, sharing its design DNA with the Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally programmes. The headline number is 9720 ways of adjustment, delivered through three separate knobs – the kind of resolution you only need if you’re actually chasing tenths across a stint, not commuting on the way home.

Construction is built around long-stint durability on circuits where surface temperatures and damper duty cycle both climb through a session. XYZ Racing teams have campaigned this damper internationally and the spec sheet reflects that lineage. One thing worth knowing up front – the three-knob arrangement uses a small oil-passage design, and over sharp bumps you may hear a faint hydraulic note as oil passes through the smaller orifices. That’s inherent to the geometry that gives the damper its low-speed control on smooth tarmac, and on the circuits this kit was built for it’s a non-issue.

Fitment for the Honda NSX (1990-2005)

This kit fits the NA1 generation NSX across the full 1990-2005 production run, covering both the pop-up headlight pre-facelift cars and the fixed-headlight later examples on the same chassis code. Spring rates and damper valving are specified for the NA1’s mid-engined layout from factory.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
