XYZ Racing Top Sport Coilovers — Lamborghini AVENTADOR LP700/720/740/750/770 SVJ 4WD (with hydraulic lift, excl. control system) 2011-2026

The Aventador’s pushrod-actuated inboard dampers and 6.5-litre L539 V12 ahead of the rear axle give this car a personality unlike anything else XYZ build for. The factory magnetorheological setup is brilliant on smooth tarmac and combative everywhere else, and the LP700/720/740/750/770 platform punishes a coilover that can’t cope with 1,575kg of carbon tub being pivoted around a longitudinally-mounted V12. The Top Sport coilover is the spec that meets that brief without throwing away the hydraulic nose-lift that keeps an Aventador usable in Britain.

Crucially, this is the 4WD car with the factory hydraulic lift system retained and the OE control system excluded – meaning the kit replaces the dampers and springs while the original axle-lift hydraulics continue to do their job on driveway ramps and speed bumps. For owners running a 700-770bhp Lamborghini on UK roads with the occasional Goodwood or Bedford day in the diary, that combination matters more than any spec sheet.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2026 Lamborghini Aventador

The Top Sport runs roughly 30-50% more damping and around 2kg/mm more spring rate than a street coilover, and on a chassis as wide and stiff as the Aventador’s that translates into a flatter front-axle response under trail braking and noticeably less lateral squat through high-speed direction changes. The big V12 mass behind the cabin stops trying to steer the car mid-corner. Over compressions – kerbs at Cadwell, a crested apex at Anglesey – the firmer valving keeps the tyre planted instead of skipping, and the increased spring rate pulls front-end ride height back under load so the carbon undertray stops kissing the road. Daily driveability is preserved by the bump absorption character XYZ tune into the Top Sport range; sharp ridges and broken UK B-road surfaces get filtered rather than transmitted into the carbon monocoque. Steering response sharpens because the contact patch is doing more work and the body is doing less.

About the Top Sport coilover

The Top Sport sits at the track-capable end of XYZ Racing’s street-legal range and is calibrated from the company’s circuit programme rather than scaled down from a stiffer race damper. Spring rates run approximately 2kg/mm above XYZ’s street setting, and damping is wound up by 30-50% to match. The brief from the engineering team is specific: absorb the impact of uneven pavement, suppress body movement over sharp bumps, and increase tyre traction under load – all without forcing the owner to live with a competition-only ride at 30mph. Construction follows XYZ’s standard Top Sport architecture with height-adjustable lower mounts so corner weights can be set without altering damper stroke, and the kit ships in the Aventador-specific configuration that retains compatibility with the factory hydraulic nose-lift hardware. Vehicle stability under aggressive driving is the design target, and the valving carries over directly from XYZ’s track-day development work.

Fitment for the Lamborghini Aventador (2011-2026)

Built for the Aventador LP700, LP720, LP740, LP750 and the 770 SVJ in 4WD specification on chassis code LM04, covering production years 2011 through 2026. This variant retains the factory hydraulic lift system and excludes the OE damper control system – confirm both before ordering.
