XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Honda NSX NA1 1990-2005

The NA1 is a strange chassis to drift. Mid-engined, aluminium-bodied, originally engineered by Honda to chase Ferrari around Suzuka rather than to hang sideways out of a third-gear corner – yet a small, stubborn community of NSX owners are running them at lock-stop competition angle and want hardware that respects what the car actually is. The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover is built for that job: stabilising the body through high-speed entries, holding rotation through the transition, and letting the driver dictate the angle instead of fighting the chassis for it.

Where the NA1’s stock suspension was tuned for neutral, communicative road behaviour, the Drift Spec coilover rewrites the geometry brief entirely. Ride height comes down with a usable bump stroke retained, damping is calibrated for repeated sideways loading, and the spring platform gives you the lateral resistance the standard car was never meant to deliver.

What this coilover does for your 1990-2005 Honda NSX NA1

Lower the NA1 onto a Drift Spec setup and the chassis stops resisting you. Body roll on initiation tightens up, weight transfer onto the loaded outside front becomes predictable, and the rear stays planted enough to hold angle without snapping into a spin. The shortened-but-controlled bump stroke matters most here – drop ride height too aggressively on a mid-engined car and you bottom the dampers under load, which is exactly what you cannot afford during a clipping-zone transition. The Drift Spec geometry keeps the wheel travel inside the working zone, so the contact patch behaves the same on lap five as it did on lap one. Steering response sharpens, turn-in becomes a deliberate input rather than a request, and the car finally lets you commit to entry speed.

About the Drift Spec coilover

This is a competition-drift coilover, not a road kit re-labelled. The construction brief is body stability during high-speed cornering – the moment when a drift car needs to hold a perfect angle without the chassis wallowing or the dampers running out of stroke. Spring and damping rates are matched to lateral loading rather than vertical compliance, which is the opposite philosophy to a fast-road coilover. Ride height adjustment is generous enough to dial the NSX into a usable centre of gravity while leaving meaningful bump travel under the piston. The result is a setup that enhances drifting performance specifically – making the driver’s job about line and throttle, not about correcting for chassis flex and unloaded inside wheels.

Fitment for the Honda NSX (1990-2005)

This kit is built specifically for the NA1 chassis NSX, covering the original 1990 launch right through to the 2005 NA2-era production overlap. Confirm your chassis code is NA1 before ordering – the later NA2 has different suspension geometry and is a separate part number.

What buyers also search for

  • Honda NSX NA1 drift coilover with high-angle compatible front geometry
  • NA1 chassis suspension that survives competitive drift event abuse
  • Mid-engined NSX coilover tuned for lateral load rather than fast-road compliance
  • Honda NSX 1990-2005 height-adjustable suspension with usable bump stroke
  • NSX NA1 drift conversion suspension that respects the aluminium chassis

This is a serious build for a rare chassis – configure your spring rates, damping setup and ride height below.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
