XYZ Racing Street Advanced Coilovers — Dodge STEALTH 1992-1999

The Dodge Stealth is a heavyweight Japanese-American GT in disguise – a rebadged Mitsubishi 3000GT carrying twin-turbo VR-4 running gear, all-wheel drive, four-wheel steering on the top trim, and a kerb weight that punishes lazy damping. Three decades on, the factory struts on surviving DO04 cars are tired, the bushings are softer than they ever should have been, and the chassis is asking for a rebuild from the ground up. The Street Advanced is built around that exact brief.

This is the Stealth coilover for owners who still drive the car – commute in it, take it to shows, occasionally lean on it down a back road or at a Sunday track day – and want adjustability without a race-car ride. 720 damping settings, full ride-height adjustment, and an enthusiast-street tune that respects the Stealth’s weight while sharpening how it changes direction.

What this coilover does for your 1992-1999 Dodge Stealth

The Stealth’s long wheelbase and front-biased mass make the stock car feel softer at the nose than its outputs deserve, particularly on turn-in and under trail-braking. The Street Advanced tightens that response without making the car brittle over expansion joints. Lower the front 25-40mm and you pull the nose-up rake out of the stance the Stealth has carried since 1992; dial the rebound back two or three clicks from full firm and the rear axle settles instead of skipping over mid-corner bumps. On VR-4 cars the extra body control under boost is the most obvious change – the chassis stops squatting away from the throttle and starts putting power down cleanly through all four wheels. SR and ES owners get a sharper, lighter-feeling car that finally drives the size it should.

About the Street Advanced coilover

The Street Advanced is XYZ Racing’s highest-volume street-and-track-day platform and the one their development programme has spent the longest refining. Construction is a full-coilover monotube with pillowball top mounts where the application allows, height-adjustable on the lower bracket so spring preload stays correct as you change ride height, and a single 720-step damping knob per corner that adjusts compression and rebound together. The 720-way calibration is the headline number: it gives you genuine resolution between a soft daily setting and a firm fast-road setting without the tuning paralysis of separate compression and rebound circuits. XYZ describe it as developed and validated across years of international race programmes and built specifically for road use and track days – the brief the Stealth audience actually buys for. It is the workhorse of the XYZ range, not a stripped-out race damper pretending to be civil.

Fitment for the Dodge Stealth (1992-1999)

Chassis code DO04, full 1992 to 1999 production run, covering base, ES, R/T and R/T Turbo (VR-4) trims. The kit is matched to the Stealth’s strut-front, multi-link-rear layout shared with the 3000GT, so spring rates and damper valving are tuned to the platform’s specific weight distribution rather than a generic Mitsubishi setup.
