XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Dodge STEALTH 1992-1999

The Dodge Stealth is a heavy car. Twin-turbo VR4 cars tip past 1,600kg before fluids, and the front-biased AWD layout was never set up to pivot on throttle the way a drift chassis needs to. Getting a Stealth sideways – and keeping it there with a controllable angle – is a suspension problem first, a tyre problem second. That is exactly the gap this kit is built to fill.

The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover for the 1992-1999 Dodge Stealth attacks the chassis from the geometry up. Lower the car onto a usable bump stroke, firm up the rates so the body stops loading and unloading mid-slide, and the Stealth starts behaving like a car you can actually steer with the rear axle.

What this coilover does for your 1992-1999 Dodge Stealth

The first thing you feel on a Stealth fitted with the Drift Spec kit is body control under sustained yaw. Stock, the car wallows into a corner, transfers weight slowly, and then snaps when the rear finally lets go. The Drift Spec damping holds the body flat at high entry speeds so the moment of breakaway becomes a decision, not an accident. Ride height drops onto a deliberately set bump stroke, which means the suspension still has travel to work with when you load the outside wheels mid-slide. For competitive drifting on a 1990s Japanese platform like the Stealth, that controllable transition between grip and slip is the whole game – and that is what this kit gives back to the chassis.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec is XYZ Racing’s purpose-targeted drift series, engineered around the specific demands of competitive drifting rather than circuit lap times. The damping curve and spring rate combination is set up to stabilise the body during high-speed cornering so the driver can carry a clean, repeatable angle. After dropping ride height with the correct bump stroke retained, the chassis responds predictably to steering and throttle inputs – the kit is built around the idea that drift control quality comes from suspension geometry, not from chasing grip. Construction follows XYZ Racing’s coilover platform: full height adjustment independent of spring preload, so corner weights and rake stay where the driver wants them rather than being tied to ride height. For a 1990s twin-turbo AWD chassis being repurposed for drift use, that geometry flexibility matters more than it would on a lighter, more neutral platform.

Fitment for the Dodge Stealth (1992-1999)

This kit is fitted to the Dodge Stealth chassis code DO04, covering the full 1992 to 1999 production run. The fitment is correct for both the naturally-aspirated and twin-turbo VR4 variants of the platform.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
