XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Dodge STEALTH 1992-1999

The Dodge Stealth sits in an awkward spot for any suspension engineer. It’s a heavy 3000GT twin under the skin – 1,600kg-plus with the VR-4’s all-wheel-drive hardware, twin turbos hanging over the front axle, and four-wheel steering on the top-spec cars complicating every chassis decision. Throw it at a circuit on factory dampers and the nose dives, the rear squats, and the AWD system fights tyres that have already given up.

Racing Spec is XYZ Racing’s answer for owners pushing a Stealth past fast-road duty into time-attack and sprint work. It’s the firmest, most circuit-focused tune in the catalogue, with damping curves developed through XYZ’s WTCC programme rather than guessed at on a dyno.

What this coilover does for your 1992-1999 Dodge Stealth

The first thing you’ll feel is the weight transfer slowing down. The Stealth’s nose-heavy layout (the 6G72 sits ahead of the front axle line on twin-turbo cars) wants to load the outside front tyre hard mid-corner, and the factory dampers can’t keep up with it. Racing Spec valving holds the platform flat under trail-braking and lets the AWD system actually find traction on corner exit instead of scrambling for it.

On a Stealth running semi-slicks, you’ll also notice the rear stops floating. Big rebound damping settles the rear axle through quick direction changes – the kind of esses that expose a soft chassis immediately. Ride height adjustment lets you drop the centre of gravity without running out of bump travel, which matters on a car this heavy with this much engine forward of the bulkhead.

About the Racing Spec coilover

Racing Spec is engineered for serious track and time-attack use, and the damping settings come directly from XYZ Racing’s participation in WTCC and similar series. This isn’t a fast-road kit re-sprung – it’s a track damper with circuit-derived valving as its starting point.

The kit is also one of the few in XYZ’s range where custom-spec dampers are genuinely on the table. If you’re running aggressive upgrades – bigger turbos, stripped interior, aero, slick tyres – or you’re targeting a specific circuit, XYZ will build dampers around your car’s actual weight, downforce, and tyre choice rather than handing you a generic curve. Provide the build sheet and the circuit and the spec gets tailored.

Construction is the same monotube architecture used across XYZ’s range, with full ride height and damping adjustment. The difference is in the valving philosophy: stiffer high-speed compression, more aggressive rebound control, and a damping window that assumes the car is being driven, not commuted.

Fitment for the Dodge Stealth (1992-1999)

This kit is built for the Dodge Stealth chassis code DO04, covering production years 1992 through 1999. It suits both the front-wheel-drive base cars and the all-wheel-drive R/T Twin Turbo variants – confirm your spec at checkout, particularly if your car has the active aero or 4WS hardware.
