XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Scion FR-S 2012-2021

The FR-S arrived with a deliberately low centre of gravity and a near-even weight split, which is exactly why it has become a grassroots rally and rallycross favourite rather than only a circuit toy. On gravel and snow the standard damping runs out of travel long before the chassis runs out of grip. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is built for that loose-surface world, with the long stroke and large fluid capacity a stage car needs.

Where a track spring-and-damper package bottoms out over a crested junction or a rutted forest section, this kit keeps the SC00’s contact patches loaded. It is a specialist tool for the driver pointing an FR-S at a special stage or a rallycross heat, not the school run.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2021 Scion FR-S

Fit this coilover to a 2012-2021 Scion FR-S and the first thing you notice is composure over surfaces that used to unsettle the car. The longer front and rear travel gives the suspension a bigger buffer before it runs out of stroke, so mid-corner ruts and compressions no longer spit the rear sideways unless you ask it to. The extra shock oil and nitrogen volume hold damping consistency through a full stage, where a smaller-bodied unit would fade as the fluid heated and aerated. Three independent adjustment knobs let you separate low-speed body control from high-speed bump response, so you can soften for a rough gravel stage and firm up for hard-packed snow or tarmac. The payoff is a car you can lean on over jumps and crests without the nervous, skittery rear the FR-S shows on standard dampers.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover sits at the rally end of the XYZ Racing range, developed specifically for rally and rallycross rather than circuit lapping. Its defining feature is travel: both front and rear dampers run a longer stroke than the road and track kits, creating a larger buffer distance that keeps the car stable when the surface drops away beneath it. To support that, the dampers carry a greater volume of shock oil and nitrogen gas, which raises thermal capacity and resists the oil overheating and fade that creeps in after sustained hard use on a long stage. Adjustment runs through three separate knobs, giving independent control over the damping circuits. The valving uses a small oil-passage design, and over large impacts you may hear a faint noise as fluid is forced through those narrow passages – this is normal behaviour for the spec, not a fault. It is a coilover engineered to take repeated big hits and keep working.

Fitment for the Scion FR-S (2012-2021)

This kit is cut for the Scion FR-S, chassis code SC00, across the full 2012-2021 model run. The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow spec works to the platform’s factory strut and multi-link hardpoints, shared with the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ, so the fitment is direct. Confirm your exact year against the configurator before ordering.

Set your spring and damper preferences for the FR-S and configure yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
