Caliper render for this kit:

The ZN6 FR-S leans on brake balance more than outright stopping power. It is a light, momentum-driven car with a near-even weight split, and on a track day the rear discs heat-soak long before the chassis runs out of grip. As the rear loses bite, the car starts to push wide on corner entry and the pedal travel grows.
The XYZ Racing rear brake kit for the Scion FR-S (2012-2016) goes straight at that rear axle. It supplies a matched pair of rear calipers and two-piece floating discs to restore thermal headroom at the back of the car, so the FR-S keeps rotating toward the apex on repeat laps instead of washing into understeer as the standard rear setup fades.
What this brake kit does for your 2012-2016 Scion FR-S
Fit the rear kit and the first thing you feel on the road is a firmer, more consistent pedal once the discs are up to temperature. The two-piece floating discs run hollow internal vanes that shed heat fast and trim rotating mass at each rear corner, which keeps the rear brakes honest deep into a braking zone. Because the kit is offered with Street, Sport and Racing pad compounds, you can match rear bite to how you actually use the car: a quiet, low-dust pad for the commute, Sport for fast road with the odd lap, or a Racing compound that holds its friction when the rotors are glowing. On a trail-braked entry that steadier rear braking helps the FR-S settle and rotate rather than running wide. The kit also lets the hardware sit with the wheel and caliper look you are building toward.
About the rear big brake kit
This is a rear-specific big brake kit built around XYZ Racing’s two-piece floating discs. The floating mount lets the hollow-vane friction ring expand under load without warping its alloy bell, while the internal vane structure opens paths for heat to escape, which is what lets the rear brakes recover between heavy stops. It is sold as a rear-axle package, a matched pair of calipers and discs rather than a pad-and-line tweak, so the upgrade lands exactly where the factory FR-S rear setup gives up first: sustained thermal load. Disc faces come drilled or slotted at the same price, chosen when you order. Pad compound is your call too, Street for road manners, Sport for harder fast-road use, or Racing for circuit sessions. The caliper bodies are hollow-cast as standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade for dedicated track cars that removes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Calipers are finished in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a custom Pantone match available, so the kit reads as a deliberate part of the build.
Fitment for the Scion FR-S (2012-2016)
This kit is mapped to the rear axle of the Scion FR-S across the full 2012-2016 ZN6 run, the Scion-badged version of the 86 platform. It is a rear-position fitment, so it pairs naturally with a matching front big brake kit if you are upgrading both ends. Confirm your build year against the options above before ordering.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
