The Aventador is a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 sat behind the driver’s shoulders in a carbon monocoque, with Haldex-derived 4WD trying to keep 700-770bhp in check. Asking that car to drift is asking a lot – but the people doing it need a coilover built around the discipline, not a road kit with stiffer springs. XYZ’s brief on this kit is specific: stabilise the chassis through high-speed turns to achieve a clean angle, and improve drifting performance once the ride height has been correctly set with adequate bump stroke. Where a circuit coilover is trying to extract grip, the Drift Spec is trying to manage the loss of grip in a controlled, repeatable way. The cancellation kit shipped with this Aventador-specific fitment handles the electronic-damping deletion so the chassis runs on the passive coilover without throwing faults.
