XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Mazda MX-6 1992-1998

The GE-platform MX-6 carries its weight high over the front axle and leans on soft factory damping that washes wide the moment you commit to a fast B-road sweeper. The Circuit Master coilover is the spec to fit when you want to pin that nose down, kill the float, and turn a 1990s Mazda coupe into something that actually rewards being driven hard.

Compared with a fast-road kit, the Circuit Master runs stiffer base spring rates and a damper valving curve built around sustained load – the kind a 1992-1998 MX-6 sees on a trackday session rather than a 20-minute blast. It still rolls onto the driveway in the morning without rattling fillings loose.

What this coilover does for your 1992-1998 Mazda MX-6

Drop the ride height 25-50mm and the MX-6’s centre of gravity finally sits where the geometry wanted it. Turn-in sharpens, the front end stops pushing through long-radius corners, and the rear loads predictably under trail braking rather than going light. With 30-way damping adjustment on tap, you can run a softer setting for road work and stiffen the rebound a couple of clicks before a track session without touching a spanner. Pillowball top mounts at the front recover the slop the rubber OE mounts have lost to 30-plus years of UK weather, sharpening steering feel through the column. Camber-adjustable top mounts let you claw back front negative camber that the MX-6’s MacPherson layout simply cannot deliver from the factory.

About the Circuit Master coilover

Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s track-biased spec – monotube construction, 30-way damping that adjusts compression and rebound on a single knob, and spherical pillowball mounts at the front for direct load transfer into the chassis. The damper bodies are CNC-machined from forged steel for repeatable bore tolerances under heat, with hard-anodised aluminium lower brackets to keep weight down at the corner. Spring rates are higher than the road-going Super Sport, chosen to control body movement on slick tyres and kerb strikes rather than to flatter a passenger. Ride height is set on a separate lower bracket, so adjustment doesn’t pre-load or unload the spring – a small detail that matters when you’re corner-weighting the car. Each kit ships fully assembled, ride-height pre-set to a sensible starting point, ready to bolt onto the MX-6’s strut towers and rear lower mounts.

Fitment for the Mazda MX-6 (1992-1998)

Fits the GE-chassis Mazda MX-6 (chassis code MA27) built from 1992 through 1998, covering both four-cylinder and KL-ZE V6 variants. The kit replaces the factory MacPherson strut assemblies front and rear in their entirety – no mixing of OE and aftermarket components.
