XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Hyundai GENESIS COUPE BK 3.8 2011-2014

The BK Genesis Coupe 3.8 arrived with a long bonnet, a 3.8-litre Lambda V6 over the front axle and a softly damped factory setup that was always going to need work before it saw a circuit in anger. The standard car rolls into long, loaded corners and runs out of front-end bite well before the Tau-derived V6 runs out of revs – this is the chassis the Circuit Master was built to rescue.

The Circuit Master coilover is XYZ Racing’s dedicated circuit-day kit, sitting above the road-biased ranges and aimed squarely at owners who run repeat 20-minute sessions on UK circuits like Cadwell, Snetterton and Donington. For a 1,600kg rear-drive coupe with a forward weight bias, that means more rebound control on turn-in, a flatter platform under power-down out of slow corners, and damping that survives a full track day without fade.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe BK 3.8

Fit the Circuit Master to a BK 3.8 and the first thing you feel is the front axle stop bobbing. The body sits flatter as you load it into a corner, which lets the front tyres find load progressively instead of all at once at the apex. The 9720 individual damping settings sound excessive on paper, but on a 1.4-tonne coupe with this much polar moment it lets you tune front compression independently of rear rebound – so you can settle the nose without locking the rear axle into mid-corner understeer. Trail-braking into a slow corner becomes a deliberate action rather than a hopeful one, and the rear stays planted as you feed the 3.8 V6 back in. Ride height adjustment lets you take the worst of the factory rake out, which on the BK chassis also cleans up camber gain on the front MacPherson struts.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master sits at the top of XYZ Racing’s competition-spec ladder, alongside the Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally programmes. It uses three separate adjustment knobs – a configuration XYZ developed specifically so circuit drivers can split low-speed and high-speed damping behaviour rather than chasing one compromise number. The 9720-setting range covers everything from a wet Anglesey morning to a baked Bedford in July. XYZ tests this damper with its own race teams across international circuits, which is where the small-orifice oil passage design comes from: it prioritises platform control over big-hit compliance, so you’ll feel – and sometimes hear – a faint hydraulic note when the oil moves through the smaller passages over heavy kerb strikes. That’s the trade for the damping consistency you get session after session on smooth tarmac.

Fitment for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe BK 3.8 (2011-2014)

Built specifically for the BK-chassis Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6, model years 2011 through 2014. The kit covers the 3.8 Lambda variant and ships matched to that car’s front strut and rear multi-link geometry – so spring rates and damper valving are set for the V6’s heavier nose, not the lighter 2.0T BK.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
