XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Hyundai GENESIS COUPE BK 3.8 2011-2014

The BK Genesis Coupe 3.8 is a long, nose-heavy rear-drive GT that was built to a price – and the OE suspension shows it the moment you put it on a circuit. The Lambda 3.8 V6 puts useful torque into a chassis that wants to roll, pitch and run wide on corner entry, and the factory dampers fade inside two or three hot laps. The XYZ Racing Racing Spec coilover exists to fix exactly that.

This is the most serious kit in the XYZ ladder for the 2011-2014 BK 3.8, aimed at owners who have moved past fast-road duty and are running the car at trackdays, sprint events or time-attack rounds. It is a stiffer, more focused build than the Super Sport or Top Sport, and the valving has been developed against race data rather than catalogue assumptions.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe BK 3.8

Drop a Racing Spec set under a BK 3.8 and the first thing you notice is the body settling – the slow vertical wallow on turn-in is gone, replaced by a flat platform that holds attitude through long third-gear sweepers. The valving is tuned to keep the front tyres loaded during trail-braking, which is where the standard car runs out of front-end and pushes wide. At the rear, the damping is firm enough to stop the live-feeling 3.8 squatting on corner exit and lighting up the inside wheel before the LSD can do its job. Ride height is adjustable on the lower bracket so corner-weighting and front splitter clearance can be set without losing usable stroke. It is a coilover you can drive to the circuit, but it is unmistakably set up for the circuit first.

About the Racing Spec coilover

The Racing Spec damper is XYZ’s track-race specification, and the valving baselines are taken from direct participation in series including the WTCC rather than from showroom-floor assumptions. Construction is built around repeatable heat performance – the priority is keeping damper temperature stable across a 20-minute session rather than chasing a soft initial stroke. Spring rates are higher than the Super Sport range and matched to the BK’s front-heavy weight distribution. For cars running aggressive aero, slick tyres or A-class race builds, XYZ Racing will produce custom-valved units to a specific circuit and parts list – buyers send through their build sheet and target venue and the dampers are revalved before shipping. That last point matters: this is the kit you specify if your Genesis Coupe is no longer a road car with weekend ambitions.

Fitment for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe (2011-2014)

Designed for the BK-chassis Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6 produced between 2011 and 2014, covering the post-facelift Lambda cars. Front and rear units are model-specific to the BK 3.8 platform – the four-cylinder 2.0T BK uses a different valving and spring spec, so confirm the engine variant matches before ordering.
