XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Honda INTEGRA DA6 TWIN CAM (Rear EYE) 1989-1993

The DA6 Integra is a peculiar thing to take rallying. Light, revvy, double-wishbones at both ends, and a chassis that was already half-tuned from the factory for the kind of throttle-on rotation a sealed-stage tarmac event demands. The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover is built for exactly that brief – a closed-road JDM coupé carrying enough pace into a hairpin to need real damper authority, not a fast-road set rebadged for the gravel scene.

Where lesser kits run out of stroke over kerbs and broken Welsh asphalt, this one is set up to keep the front double-wishbones loaded through the compression strokes and the rear EYE-mounted dampers planted on corner exit. That matters on a car this light – the DA6 will skip and lift a rear wheel the moment a damper gives up.

What this Tarmac Rally coilover does for your 1989-1993 Honda Integra DA6 TWIN CAM

Fitted to a DA6, the most immediate change is impact rejection. The valving is tuned to swallow the kerb hits, expansion joints and patched repairs that define a UK tarmac stage, without transferring that shock into the shell or unloading the contact patch. Body movement is suppressed without making the chassis brittle, which on a 1,000kg-ish Integra is the line between confidence and a tankslapper.

The traction gain is the headline benefit. By keeping the tyre loaded through mid-corner bumps – the exact moment a softer fast-road kit goes light – you carry more cornering speed and put the B-series power down earlier on exit. Stance and ride height adjustability let you balance the natural front-bias of the DA6 platform so it rotates on throttle rather than washing wide.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

This damper is purpose-engineered for sealed-stage tarmac rally use, with valving developed from XYZ Racing’s own competition programme rather than carried over from a road kit. The construction is built around absorbing the impact loads of uneven pavement – big single hits as well as the high-frequency chatter of broken surfaces – while suppressing body shock so the tyre stays planted.

The design priority is vehicle stability under the kind of inputs a rally driver makes: late braking into compressions, throttle pinned over crests, kerb-strikes taken deliberately. Where the Top Sport and Super Sport ranges are tuned for circuit and fast-road respectively, the Tarmac Rally spec accepts a slightly different compromise – more compliance through the stroke, more recovery between hits, settings carried directly from XYZ Racing’s tarmac-stage experience.

Fitment for the Honda Integra DA6 TWIN CAM (1989-1993)

This kit is built specifically to the AC04 chassis code, covering the 1989-1993 DA6 Twin Cam variant with the rear EYE-type lower mount – confirm your rear damper bottom mount is the eye style before ordering, as the early DA-series Integra ran more than one rear fitment.
