XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Honda INTEGRA DA6 TWIN CAM (Rear EYE) 1989-1993

The DA6 Integra was Honda’s first proper twin-cam Integra, and the chassis it left the factory with was tuned for tarmac and a kerb weight under a tonne. Point one at a gravel stage and the standard struts run out of travel almost immediately – the rear eye-mount setup hits the bumpstops on the first compression over a yump, and the front loses contact on every washboard section. These XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilovers replace that geometry with an inverted-tube damper engineered specifically for loose-surface stage rally.

For the AC04 chassis running events on sandstone, forest gravel, or winter snow, this is the kit that lets you commit to a corner entry without the chassis telling you to back out. Long stroke, long spring, properly damped on rebound.

What this coilover does for your 1989-1993 Honda Integra

Gravel rally damping is a different problem to circuit damping, and the AC04’s short wheelbase makes that gap worse. On loose surfaces you need the wheel to follow the ground – if it skips, you lose drive and you lose steering at the same moment. The inverted-tube design here gives you the stroke length to absorb a compressed crest at speed and then rebound the wheel back onto the surface before the next input. You will feel it in three places: corner entry over broken surface stays stable rather than skating, big landings off jumps no longer chassis-slap through the rear eye mount, and washboard sections through fast fifth-gear straights stop unsettling the front end. The spring rates have been validated by working rally teams, so you are not starting from zero on setup.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing developed this damper specifically for Rally Racing and Rally Cross, which the brand identifies as the most aggressive road condition in motorsport. The construction uses an inverted-tube body – the larger-diameter outer tube takes the bending load from side impacts while the internal shaft handles damping duty, a configuration that survives sidewall-to-rock contact better than a conventional monotube. Long stroke and long spring are the defining specs: the damper has the physical room to absorb high-speed bouncy roads without packing down, and to bear the G-force loads that come through the chassis when you turn into a fast gravel hairpin. The kit is engineered to work across the full gravel-surface range – sandstone, snow, silt – rather than being optimised for one surface type. Every spring rate in the catalogue has been signed off by XYZ’s rally racing partners under actual competition conditions, not on a rig.

Fitment for the Honda Integra (1989-1993)

This kit is built for the AC04 chassis Integra – the DA6 TWIN CAM variant with the rear eye-mount lower shock attachment – covering model years 1989 through 1993. SKU XYZ-COIL-AC04-GR is the AC04-specific part number; the rear eye geometry is the critical fitment detail to confirm against your car before fitting.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.
