XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 5 SERIES F10 M5 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2011-2017

The F10 M5 was never built to slide. Its 4.4-litre twin-turbo S63 makes 552bhp through a chassis BMW engineered around grip, composure and a clever electronic damper map that fights every input you’d actually want to make at full lock. The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover throws that brief in the bin.

This is a competition-focused setup for owners taking the F10 M5 sideways – circuit drift days, private airfield events, organised pro-am paddocks. The included cancellation kit defeats the factory Electronic Damper Control loop so the car stops fighting the driver, and the damping logic that replaces it is built specifically around the loaded outside corner under sustained slip angle.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2017 Bmw 5 Series F10 M5

Drop the ride height with the proper bump stroke clearance and the front end finds an aggressive Ackermann window the standard car simply cannot reach – more lock, more bite, more time on angle before the front tyres scrub out. The valving is tuned to keep the outside-front loaded during the transition rather than collapsing as weight piles on, which is exactly the failure mode F10 M5 drivers report on stock dampers under repeated entries. Rear damping is calibrated to hold the slide rather than snap-recover, so trailing-throttle adjustments translate into angle changes instead of pendulum corrections. The two-tonne kerb weight of the F10 stops working against you and starts working for you – that mass becomes momentum you can actually steer with the throttle.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec is XYZ Racing’s chassis-specific build for competition drifting, not a re-labelled circuit coilover. The damping profile is engineered around high-speed cornering with the body stabilised mid-slide, so the car holds its attitude through the turn instead of washing wide or rotating past the driver’s intent. Bump stroke is set to allow meaningful ride-height reduction without bottoming under hard kerb-strikes or transition loading. The electronic damping cancellation kit shipped with the F10 M5 application is critical here – the factory EDC system reads adaptive damper inputs that don’t exist on a coilover body, throws fault codes, and on the original setup interferes with the firmware behaviour you actually want. With it removed, the suspension answers only to the driver.

Fitment for the Bmw 5 Series F10 M5 (2011-2017)

Built for the F10 M5 chassis code (BM75-11-C) covering model years 2011 through 2017, including the LCI facelift cars. The kit ships with the electronic damping cancellation hardware specific to this platform, so the EDC system is handled at install rather than left as a CEL waiting to happen.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
