XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — BMW 5 SERIES F10 M5 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2011-2017

The F10 M5 was BMW M’s first turbocharged super-saloon, and its 1,945kg kerb weight plus 552bhp from the S63 twin-turbo V8 puts huge demands on suspension when the surface gets broken. The factory Adaptive Drive system is clever on a smooth circuit, but on a closed-stage tarmac rally – patched repairs, mid-corner compressions, drainage humps – the electronic dampers cannot react fast enough and the car begins to skip wide. The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the BMW 5 Series F10 M5 swaps that compromise for a damper purpose-tuned to soak up bumps without losing tyre contact.

This is the spec to specify when the F10 M5 is being prepped for stage use rather than circuit work. It comes with the cancellation kit needed to retire the original electronic damping signal cleanly, so there are no dashboard faults once the conversion is finished.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2017 Bmw 5 Series F10 M5 (cancellation Kit For Electronic Damping)

On a section of broken tarmac the standard F10 M5 jiggles its mass over the rear axle and the inside rear momentarily unloads under power – exactly when the active diff is trying to put torque down. The Tarmac Rally damping curve is set to absorb the initial impact of a bump and then settle quickly, keeping both rear tyres pressed into the surface so traction returns sooner. Across compressions the long-stroke valving stops the car bottoming and pitching forward, which protects the front splitter and keeps the steering loaded. Body control through fast direction changes is firmer than the factory comfort setting but far more compliant than a circuit coilover, and the cancellation kit means the dashboard stays clean of EDC fault codes once installation is done.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally is the XYZ Racing damper specifically intended for sealed-stage rally use rather than smooth-circuit work. Its valving is shimmed to absorb the impact of uneven pavement and the larger jolts that come from crested junctions and broken edges, while still suppressing body movement enough to keep the chassis pointed. The result is a damper that increases tyre traction over rough surfaces by stopping the wheel from skipping, which is the limiting factor on tarmac stages rather than outright spring rate. All settings on the Tarmac Rally line come from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally experience, so the baseline is not a generic street kit with stiffer springs – it is a stage-ready damping curve out of the crate. Construction is to XYZ’s full-coilover spec with height adjustment retained, and on this F10 M5 fitment the kit ships with the cancellation module required to disable the original electronic damping circuit.

Fitment for the Bmw 5 Series F10 M5 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2011-2017)

This kit is specified for the F10 chassis M5 built 2011 to 2017, chassis code BM75-11-C, the variant fitted with BMW’s Electronic Damping Control from the factory. The included cancellation kit replaces the EDC signal so the system is properly retired rather than left throwing faults. Always confirm your VIN matches the F10 M5 EDC variant before ordering.
