XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Porsche 991 GT3 (without hydraulic lift system) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2013-2019

The 991 GT3’s rear-engine layout places approximately 62% of the car’s mass behind the rear axle, and on a sealed tarmac stage that weight distribution is as much a liability as an asset. Compressions arrive fast, surface consistency is never guaranteed, and when the rear steps out, it does so with conviction. The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the 991 GT3 is calibrated from actual closed-road stage experience, designed to cope with the kind of variable tarmac that the factory PASM system simply wasn’t programmed for.

There is an additional complexity unique to the PASM-equipped GT3: replacing the electronic damping entirely requires more than fitting new units. The included cancellation kit handles the PASM delete cleanly, allowing the Tarmac Rally coilovers to operate as a standalone system without dashboard warnings or interference from Porsche’s active suspension electronics.

What this coilover does for your 2013-2019 Porsche 991 GT3

Removing PASM’s variable damping and replacing it with a stage-calibrated fixed setup gives the 991 GT3 a consistent, knowable baseline. The dampers are tuned specifically for uneven tarmac, absorbing the jolt from large bumps before the impact propagates into the chassis body. On the rear-heavy 991 platform, that body movement control is not incidental – a sudden pitch or yaw response on a rough mid-corner section can unsettle the rear axle faster than any driver input can correct. Suppressing body reaction keeps tyre contact consistent across variable surfaces, which on a car already working its rear tyres hard means the GT3 holds its line where an unsuited setup breaks away. Every aspect of the damper calibration comes from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally programme – the rates aren’t theoretical extrapolation from circuit or road work.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally series is rooted in the brand’s closed-road competition experience. Every setting is drawn from actual stage use rather than converted from circuit or road data. The dampers are built to absorb the impact of uneven pavement and the shock load of large compressions, suppressing chassis body movement rather than transmitting that jolt through to the car – a critical distinction on rough tarmac, where a correctly specced setup maintains tyre traction while an overwhelmed one loses contact and skips. Increased grip across imperfect surfaces is the measurable outcome: the tyres stay loaded through the compressions and surface changes that define a real stage. For the 991 GT3, the Tarmac Rally spec cancels the factory PASM electronics and replaces the system entirely with a rally-derived damping calibration that has no dependency on Porsche’s active electronics to function correctly.

Fitment for the Porsche 991 GT3 (2013-2019)

This coilover covers the 991 GT3 (chassis code PO17-C) across its full 2013-2019 production run, encompassing both the 991.1 generation with the 3.8-litre flat-six and the 991.2 generation’s 4.0-litre unit. Two conditions must be confirmed before ordering: the car must NOT have the factory hydraulic lift system fitted, and the included cancellation kit addresses the PASM electronic damping delete, keeping the dashboard clean after the swap. If both conditions apply to your car, this is the correct specification.
