XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Porsche 991 GT3 (without hydraulic lift system) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2013-2019

Sixty per cent of the 991 GT3’s weight sits over the rear axle, and the factory active damping system – PASM – manages that balance through an algorithm calibrated across multiple drive modes. That is a reasonable solution for a road car. For circuit use with a fully committed setup, it is the constraint that the XYZ Racing Racing Spec kit exists to remove.

This kit is specific to 991 GT3 cars not fitted with the factory hydraulic front-axle lift system, and it ships with a cancellation kit for the PASM electronic damping circuit. Removing the factory active dampers without addressing the PASM system leaves the ECU in persistent fault mode; with the cancellation kit installed, the car moves to a fully passive, manually adjustable setup and the suspension becomes yours to calibrate – not the algorithm’s to manage.

What this coilover does for your 2013-2019 Porsche 991 GT3

Replacing the PASM setup with fixed-rate passive dampers calibrated for serious circuit use removes the factory’s compromise between road and track modes. The 991 GT3’s rear weight bias means rebound calibration at the rear axle has an outsized influence on corner exit stability – a detail the Racing Spec development process accounts for directly, given its origins in circuit racing data. Adjustable damping lets you set the car to a specific circuit rather than averaging across all of them: firmer at the rear for fast, high-load tracks where axle movement costs time; more responsive at the front for technical layouts where rotation on entry is the priority. Lowering ride height within the kit’s range further reduces the centre of gravity on a platform that, despite its engine position, carries room to improve its aerodynamic stance.

About the Racing Spec coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Racing Spec damper range specifically for track and race use, with calibration drawn from direct involvement in circuit competition including WTCC events – not from a road-focused product adapted for trackday use. The baseline settings reflect professional racing conditions, which means the spring and damper assumptions are different in character from a fast-road coilover repurposed for sprint events. For owners running heavily modified cars – factory racing-specification components, upgraded drivetrains, substantially revised geometry – XYZ Racing offer custom shock absorber builds calibrated to the individual car’s specification and intended circuit. Access to this requires buyers to supply detailed information on all upgraded parts and the circuits they plan to run, after which XYZ Racing configure the dampers accordingly. That makes the Racing Spec a viable long-term suspension platform for a 991 GT3 that will continue to develop.

Fitment for the Porsche 991 GT3 (2013-2019)

Built for chassis code PO17-C, this kit covers the full 991 GT3 production run from 2013 to 2019, spanning both the 991.1 and 991.2 generations. It is designed specifically for cars not equipped with the factory hydraulic front-axle lift system. The PASM cancellation kit is included and required for correct installation – without it, removing the electronic damping circuit triggers persistent ECU fault conditions.
