XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Ferrari 812 (without hydraulic lift system) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2017-2026

The 812 Superfast was never meant to see gravel. A 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 hanging ahead of the front axle, 789bhp routed rearward, and a chassis tuned for Fiorano tarmac – none of that survives a Tarmac-to-loose transition without serious suspension rethinking. This is the FE09-C fitment, built for owners running an 812 on stages rather than B-roads, with the factory hydraulic lift system removed and the electronic damping bypassed via cancellation kit.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover replaces the entire OEM damper assembly with an inverted-tube unit specifically engineered for the abuse a front-engined V12 inflicts on its suspension over rough terrain. Long stroke, long spring, and a damping curve developed against actual rally telemetry.

What this coilover does for your 2017-2026 Ferrari 812

A nose-heavy front-engined GT on gravel will pitch hard under braking and unload the rear over crests at speed – the 812’s weight distribution makes this worse than most. The inverted tube design moves the larger-diameter, more rigid section to the top of the damper, which keeps the strut stiffer in bending when the front axle is loaded sideways through a rutted corner. Long-stroke travel absorbs the high-frequency hits from sandstone or compacted snow without the damper packing down and going harsh. Long springs hold the chassis through compression cycles that would coil-bind a track-spec setup in the first stage. The cancellation kit for the electronic damping means the ECU stops fighting the new hardware – the suspension behaves as the coilover engineer intended, not as Maranello’s adaptive logic expects.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This damper is developed for rally and rallycross – the most aggressive road conditions the company builds for. The inverted tube construction is the core of the design, chosen specifically to handle the transition between surface types you get on a mixed stage: sandstone, snow, silt, hardpack. Long stroke gives the wheel the vertical range it needs to stay loaded over bouncy high-speed sections. Long springs work with that travel rather than against it, soaking compression without binding. Every spring rate fitted to this kit has been signed off against testing with rally race teams, not extrapolated from a road or circuit dataset. The Gravel Rally is at the harder end of what the catalogue covers – built for sustained G-loads through long corners and the kind of vertical impacts that ruin lesser dampers in one stage.

Fitment for the Ferrari 812 (2017-2026)

This kit is specific to the FE09-C chassis variant – Ferrari 812 cars built between 2017 and 2026 that are NOT fitted with the factory hydraulic front lift system. It includes a cancellation kit to disable the electronic adaptive damping, so the OEM control unit will not throw faults or attempt to override the new hardware. Confirm your car’s spec before ordering – the lift system fitment is the critical variable.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
