XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Honda CIVIC TYPE-R FD2 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2007-2011

The FD2 Civic Type-R is the one UK enthusiasts rarely see outside of grey-import circles – Honda built it right-hand drive for Japan only, and unlike every other Type-R generation, it runs a genuine double wishbone front end rather than a MacPherson strut. That geometry holds camber far better under load, but the standard dampers were calibrated for Japanese B-roads, not for a car about to spend a full day lapping Cadwell Park or Donington.

XYZ Racing’s Circuit Master is built for exactly that shift in use – sustained circuit lap-time work rather than a single fast-road blast. On the FD2 it replaces spring and damper rates tuned for daily driving with a set-up that keeps the wishbone geometry doing its job through an entire session, not just the first flying lap.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2011 Honda Civic Type-R FD2 (Modified Rr Integrated)

Fit the Circuit Master and the FD2’s front end stops diving under braking the way the factory dampers allow it to – with the wishbone geometry properly supported, the K20A’s high-revving delivery goes into grip instead of getting soaked up by unwanted suspension movement. The 9720-way damping adjustment lets you set compression and rebound independently front and rear, so trail-braking into a hairpin doesn’t unsettle the rear axle the way a fixed-rate spring would. Ride height drops to lower the centre of gravity for quicker direction changes through chicanes, and with three separate adjustment knobs you can retune between a damp Anglesey morning and a dry afternoon session without swapping parts.

About the Circuit Master coilover

XYZ Racing positions the Circuit Master as its dedicated circuit damper, built on the same monotube architecture used across its Racing Spec and rally-focused ranges but tuned specifically for repeated lapping rather than a single stage. Three external adjustment knobs give a combined 9720 damping combinations, so a driver can separate low-speed compression (kerb strikes, corner-entry weight transfer) from high-speed rebound (bump absorption at speed) instead of settling for one dial that averages both. XYZ develops the Circuit Master through its own racing teams competing internationally, and part of that development is a small-bore oil passage inside each adjustment circuit – under hard, repeated bump loading you may hear a faint noise through the damper body. That’s the oil moving through the passage as designed, not a fault, and it’s the trade-off for adjustment resolution this fine on a coilover built for circuit driving rather than for isolating road imperfections.

Fitment for the Honda Civic Type-R FD2 (Modified Rr Integrated) (2007-2011)

This kit is specified for the Honda Civic Type-R FD2, chassis code HN23-1, covering the 2007 to 2011 model years with a modified rear integrated set-up. Confirm your car matches this chassis code before ordering, as Honda ran parallel Type-R platforms with different rear suspension architecture across the same period.
