XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Honda CIVIC TYPE-R FD2 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2007-2011

The FD2 Type R’s rear end was never meant to slide on command. Honda built this chassis around trail-braking grip and a screaming K20A that wants to be pointed dead straight out of a corner, which is exactly why a coilover built for controlled oversteer has to fight the car’s natural instincts rather than simply lower it. The Pro Racing Drift Spec kit is built around that fight, with damping and geometry aimed squarely at holding a big slip angle rather than resisting one.

On a modified rear-integrated FD2 running a drift-style rear setup, ride height and body control have to work together, not against each other. This kit is calibrated for that combination, giving the rear axle the stability to hold an angle mid-transition instead of snapping back or tramping under load.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2011 Honda CIVIC TYPE-R FD2 (Modified Rr Integrated)

Drop the ride height correctly with the available bump stroke and the FD2’s body control changes noticeably through fast direction changes – less of the pitch and dive that unsettles the nose mid-transition, more of the flat, predictable weight transfer a drift car needs to initiate cleanly. The 3-knob adjustment lets you separate low-speed compression from rebound, so you can soften the initial catch without losing the support that keeps the rear planted once you’re holding the angle. That matters more on this chassis than most: the FD2’s stiffer factory subframe mounts transmit every setup change directly into how predictably the rear steps out, so small adjustments here translate into real differences in how catchable a slide is. Run it hard into repeated big bumps and you may hear some noise from the oil moving through the knobs’ small passages – that’s the design working as intended, not a fault, and it’s a known trait of coilovers tuned this aggressively for circuit drift use.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

This is a coilover built specifically for drift, not a general track kit with a drift label attached. The internal architecture is aimed at keeping the car’s body stable through high-speed cornering so the driver can hold a clean angle rather than fight constant correction. Once the ride height is set within the intended bump stroke, the difference in how controllable the slide feels becomes obvious – this is the geometry XYZ Racing built specifically to get drift control into that "excellent" window rather than leaving it vague. The 3 adjustment knobs work through deliberately small oil passages, a design choice that sharpens response but means you’ll hear some noise over rough sections of track – again, expected behaviour rather than a defect. It’s built for circuit-track use, where surface bumps are part of the environment rather than an edge case, so the kit is engineered to shrug them off rather than be caught out by them.

Fitment for the Honda CIVIC TYPE-R FD2 (Modified Rr Integrated) (2007-2011)

This kit is specified for the FD2-generation Civic Type R, chassis code HN23-1, covering the 2007 to 2011 model years. It’s built around a modified rear-integrated setup, so confirm your rear subframe and axle configuration matches this spec before ordering – this is not the standard-rear FD2 fitment.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
