XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Ford TELSTAR 1988-1992

The FO19 Telstar left the factory as a transverse front-driver – a badge-engineered Mazda Capella – which makes it a left-field drift base and exactly the kind of project the XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover is built to serve. Competition drifting asks one thing of a chassis above all else: hold a big, controlled angle while the body stays settled through the corner. This kit is designed around that single job rather than adapted from a comfort-first road setup.

Where a fast-road coilover chases ride quality, the Pro Racing Drift Spec chases body control. It drops the Telstar low, runs a firm bump stroke, and hands you the adjustment range to balance the car for sustained, high-speed slides instead of outright grip.

What this coilover does for your 1988-1992 Ford Telstar

Set the Telstar onto a correctly judged bump stroke and the first thing you feel is how flat it sits the moment you initiate. The body roll that would upset a soft road car is taken out, so the rear stays readable as you carry angle through a high-speed turn. The three independent adjustment knobs let you tune the car for transitions and corner exit, settling on a configuration that keeps the slide stable rather than snapping out. Ride-height adjustment also lets you correct the Telstar’s stance and claw back the suspension geometry that aggressive lowering otherwise ruins.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

The Pro Racing Drift Spec is engineered specifically for competitive drifting, not carried over from a road kit. Its design focuses on keeping the body stable through high-speed cornering so the driver can set and hold a clean angle, and on sharpening overall drift response. The three adjustment knobs run a small-bore oil passage; over large bumps the oil is forced through that narrow hole and can produce a faint noise, which is normal valving behaviour and not a fault. XYZ Racing build this kit for circuit-track use, where surfaces are smooth and that bump characteristic is a non-issue. Lower the ride height with the proper bump stroke and the controllability the kit offers under power becomes plain.

Fitment for the Ford Telstar (1988-1992)

This kit is cut for the FO19-chassis Ford Telstar built between 1988 and 1992, the GD-platform generation shared with the Mazda Capella. Confirm your chassis code reads FO19 before ordering, as the Telstar was sold in several mechanical specs across these years.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
