XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Mitsubishi OUTLANDER 2WD/4WD 2007-2013

The second-generation Mitsubishi Outlander carries its height in its suspension geometry – there’s substantial travel designed for road compliance that, under circuit conditions, allows enough body roll to unsettle the 4WD system’s torque distribution and push the front axle wide before the driver has time to react. On 2WD variants, the same compliance surfaces as a soft, pitchy front end under braking. The XYZ Racing Racing Spec coilover kit addresses both drivetrains from the same foundation: a damper architecture developed through direct WTCC race participation, not extrapolated from a road-biased catalogue unit.

This is a track and time-attack specification, not a dual-use compromise. For Outlander builds heading to circuit events, the crossover’s S-AWC capability only pays dividends if the suspension underneath it is calibrated for what the track demands – not what the school run requires.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2013 Mitsubishi OUTLANDER 2WD/4WD

Dropping the Outlander’s ride height tightens its centre of gravity – a meaningful change on a body that starts life sitting tall. The Racing Spec’s calibration dials out the front-end float that makes trail-braking in a stock 2007-2013 Outlander a matter of faith rather than feel. On the 4WD cars, a controlled rear attitude under power helps the AWD system direct torque to where traction exists, rather than compensating for a chassis that has already lost composure. Height and damper adjustment lets builders target specific circuit requirements and tyre combinations without accepting a road-biased starting point.

About the Racing Spec coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Racing Spec damper specifically for competitive circuit use, with every adjustment parameter validated through direct participation in WTCC events – not optimised for road comfort and subsequently turned up. The specification starts from what a racing car requires and works backward to a fitment-specific unit. For heavily modified Outlanders running significant engine, brake, or aero upgrades, XYZ Racing offers fully custom shock absorber builds on request: owners supply the complete list of upgraded components and the target circuit, and the manufacturer specifies the damper to match those exact inputs. That level of build-to-spec availability exists because a serious time-attack Outlander and a mildly lowered road car have almost nothing in common in terms of what the damper needs to do.

Fitment for the Mitsubishi OUTLANDER 2WD/4WD (2007-2013)

This kit is built for the Mitsubishi OUTLANDER, chassis code MT33-1, covering both 2WD and 4WD variants across the full 2007 to 2013 model year span. Confirm your drivetrain configuration at the point of order, as the front damper specification differs between the two. The 2007-2013 range covers the second-generation Outlander body in its entirety.
