XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Mazda 626 1987-1992

The GD-chassis Mazda 626 was a front-driver that punched well above its weight on tight British B-roads, and four decades on the survivors are running on dampers that gave up long ago. The XYZ Racing Circuit Master coilover for the 1987-1992 Mazda 626 is built for owners who want this MA17-era saloon to corner with the body control it never quite had from the factory.

Circuit Master sits at the harder end of the XYZ Racing range. It is the spec you choose when the 626 is heading to Cadwell, Mallory or a hillclimb paddock more often than the supermarket, and you want a damper that does not fade three laps in.

What this coilover does for your 1987-1992 Mazda 626

A late-eighties 626 on tired struts squats under power and rolls onto its outside front in a way that loads the tyre wall instead of the contact patch. The Circuit Master replaces that with a monotube damper and stiffer spring rates that keep the chassis flat through long-radius corners, so the front end stops washing into understeer mid-bend. Ride height adjusts independently of spring preload, which matters on a car this old because corner-weighting a 626 properly is the single biggest handling gain you can make. The 30-way damping range lets you firm the car up for a track session and back it off for the drive home without touching the spanners.

About the Circuit Master coilover

Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s circuit-focused full coilover kit, designed around monotube damper bodies for consistent damping force when the oil is hot. Spring rates are pitched higher than the road-biased Super Sport tier, with adjustable damping across 30 clicks so you can tune bump and rebound together for a given circuit. Pillowball top mounts (where the platform allows) sharpen steering response and remove the rubber compliance that softens turn-in on an OEM strut. Construction is corrosion-treated for UK weather, and the kit is engineered around a single-adjuster layout that keeps tuning straightforward at the trackside.

Fitment for the Mazda 626 (1987-1992)

This kit is built for the MA17-chassis Mazda 626 produced from 1987 to 1992, covering the saloon, hatchback and coupe variants of that generation. Confirm your chassis code matches MA17 before ordering, as the earlier and later 626 platforms use different strut geometry.
