XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Mazda 626 1993-1997

The GE-platform Mazda 626 was engineered around motorway refinement – soft springs, generous wheel travel and a nose-heavy front-drive layout that keeps the saloon composed on tarmac but unsettled the moment the surface turns to gravel or snow. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover rebuilds that suspension for exactly the conditions the standard car was never meant to see.

This is a loose-surface rally setup, not a lowering kit. Built for stage rally and rallycross use, it trades the 626’s road-going compliance for long-travel damping that soaks up ruts, jumps and camber changes while keeping the front tyres loaded through the corner.

What this coilover does for your 1993-1997 Mazda 626

On gravel and snow the extra suspension travel front and rear gives the 1993-1997 Mazda 626 a far bigger buffer before the dampers run out of stroke, so the car stays settled over crests and dips instead of skipping wide. The enlarged oil and nitrogen gas volume inside each damper resists heat build-up, which matters on a long stage where repeated big hits would cook a smaller-bodied shock and leave you with fading control. Three separate adjustment knobs let you set front and rear balance for the surface – softer for deep snow, firmer for hard-packed gravel – so a nose-heavy front-driver can be coaxed into rotating rather than ploughing. The result is a 626 you can lean on when grip is low and the road is anything but smooth.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is XYZ Racing’s dedicated loose-surface damper, developed for rally racing and rallycross rather than circuit tarmac. Its defining feature is travel: both front and rear units run longer stroke than a road or track coilover, increasing the buffer distance that keeps the car stable when the suspension is working hard over rough ground. Each damper carries a larger reservoir of suspension oil and nitrogen gas, and that bigger fluid volume holds temperature down so the shock does not fade after sustained hard running. Adjustment comes from three knobs, giving independent control over the damping you need as surfaces change. The small oil-passage design behind that adjustment can produce a faint noise when the car crashes through large bumps – that is normal valving behaviour, not a fault. It is a setup conceived for stages and special tracks where surface impacts are simply part of the job.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
