XYZ Racing Pro Rally Coilovers — Mazda 626 1993-1997

Gravel and snow stages expose a road car’s suspension faster than any other discipline. The GE-generation Mazda 626, built between 1993 and 1997, left the factory with soft, comfort-biased damping and limited travel – sensible for a motorway cruise, well out of its depth on a loose-surface special stage. The XYZ Racing Pro Rally coilover exists for that exact environment: top-flight rally competition on gravel and snow.

This is the professional-grade end of XYZ Racing’s rally line. Where the amateur specification bolts straight onto the standard chassis, the Pro Rally kit is built to be fitted after the car body has been modified to take it – which is what frees up the travel and mounting geometry a competitive stage car actually needs.

What this coilover does for your 1993-1997 Mazda 626

Fit the Pro Rally coilovers to your 1993-1997 Mazda 626 and the car stops floundering the moment the surface turns loose. The extra suspension travel keeps the front tyres loaded over crests and into compressions, so the nose-led, front-wheel-drive 626 finds drive out of slow gravel hairpins instead of scrabbling for grip. Firmer, controlled damping settles the body between direction changes, which counts for a lot on a saloon this size when you pitch it into a stage corner. On snow you keep the compliance to ride ruts without deflecting off line, and the ride-height adjustment lets you set the ground clearance a rough stage demands.

About the Pro Rally coilover

The Pro Rally sits at the specialist end of XYZ Racing’s gravel and snow rally suspension. XYZ Racing splits its rally coilovers into two distinct builds. The first is an amateur specification that installs directly onto the original 626 chassis with no fabrication, aimed at club and privateer crews. The second – the one offered here – is the professional build, intended to be fitted only after the car body has been modified to accept it. That route is what unlocks the longer travel, revised mounting and loose-surface damping a serious rally programme runs. It is a competition part first and a road component a distant second, worked out around the realities of gravel and snow rather than smooth tarmac.

Fitment for the Mazda 626 (1993-1997)

These coilovers are cut for the GE-generation Mazda 626, chassis code MA18, covering the 1993 to 1997 model years. Confirm your car sits inside that build window before configuring, and note that the professional specification assumes the shell will be modified to accept the kit rather than offering a straight bolt-in fit.
