XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Ferrari PORTOFINO (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2017-2026

The Portofino was never meant to slide. It was meant to waft, with its retractable hardtop and front-mid-mounted 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8, and Maranello’s magnetorheological dampers were tuned for that exact remit – composed GT cruising, with just enough body control to flatter the chassis on a B-road. The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover, paired here with the cancellation kit for the Portofino’s electronic damping, throws that brief out entirely.

This is a niche build for a niche owner: someone running a FE07-C Portofino as a competition drift platform and willing to silence the factory adaptive system to do it. The cancellation kit tells the ECU the original dampers are still present so dash warnings stay quiet, while these coilovers take over the actual job of controlling a 1,664 kg front-engined V8 mid-corner at full lock.

What this coilover does for your 2017-2026 Ferrari Portofino

Drift Spec coilovers change the Portofino’s character at the limit. With ride height dropped and bump stroke set correctly, weight transfers more sharply to the outside front under initiation, which gives the rear axle the cue it needs to break traction predictably rather than snapping. Once the car is sideways, the stiffer platform stabilises body roll at high steering angles, so you hold a cleaner line at greater speed without the chassis lolling onto its outside corner. The result on a 2+ tonne-feeling Ferrari is a car that takes commands instead of dictating them – angle becomes something you set, not something you hope for.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing builds the Drift Spec specifically for competitive drifting rather than as a circuit coilover with a marketing tag. The geometry and valving are tuned for high-speed entry and sustained transitions at extreme angle, with a focus on rear-end stability under provocation. After dropping ride height to the Drift Spec’s intended window and matching that to the supplied bump stroke, the controllability shift is immediate: the car holds attitude where the OEM setup would either understeer wide or snap back. Construction follows XYZ’s standard pillowball top-mount and damper layout, but the valving is the story here – chosen for the unusual demands of a competition discipline that punishes any coilover designed primarily for grip.

Fitment for the Ferrari Portofino (2017-2026)

This kit is built for the FE07-C chassis Portofino, 2017 through 2026, and ships with the electronic-damping cancellation module required to disable the factory magnetorheological system. The cancellation kit is the critical piece – without it the dashboard will flag a suspension fault.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
