XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Ferrari PORTOFINO (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2017-2026

The Portofino was never engineered with a gravel stage in mind. It is a 591bhp front-mid-engined GT with magnetorheological dampers, a folding hardtop adding mass over the rear axle, and electronics that assume tarmac. Strip that ecosystem out and you have a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 sitting in a chassis crying out for travel, compliance, and a damper that does not panic when the surface disappears.

This is where the XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the Ferrari Portofino comes in. It is a long-stroke, inverted-tube setup paired with the electronic damping cancellation kit, so the factory adaptive system stops fighting you the moment the car leaves smooth tarmac. The result is a Portofino that can be driven on loose surfaces without the dash lighting up like a Christmas tree.

What this coilover does for your 2017-2026 Ferrari Portofino

The inverted-tube architecture moves the working volume of the damper into the upper body, which protects the shaft from stone strikes and side-load deflection – the two things that murder conventional coilovers on a gravel stage. The long stroke gives the Portofino’s heavy nose somewhere to go when the front end drops into a compression, instead of running out of travel and skipping. Long springs hold preload through full droop on crests, so the car stays planted rather than going light over the brow of a jump.

The cancellation kit defeats the factory magnetic-ride signal, which would otherwise log faults and revert to a default-stiff map the second a wheel left the ground. With that handed off, the chassis behaves like a proper rally car: predictable, progressive, and absorbing rather than reacting.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

Of every discipline XYZ Racing builds for, Rally Cross is the most punishing on a damper, and the Gravel Rally series is the answer to it. The inverted-tube design was developed to cope with sandstone, snow, and silt – surfaces that destroy a standard monotube through contamination and side-load alone. The long stroke and long-spring geometry are tuned to absorb sustained chassis vibration on broken roads, soak the impacts that come from attacking a bouncy stage at speed, and carry the lateral G-force a heavy GT generates through a fourth-gear corner.

Spring rates across the range are not desk-calculated. Every setting has been validated by rally racing teams running the platform in competition, which matters on a 1,664kg car like the Portofino where getting the rate wrong by 1kg/mm changes the entry attitude completely.

Fitment for the Ferrari Portofino (2017-2026)

This kit fits the FE07-C chassis Portofino from 2017 through to the current 2026 model year, covering both the original Portofino and the Portofino M. It includes the dedicated cancellation harness for the factory electronic damping system, so the car’s ECU will not flag the suspension swap as a fault.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
