XYZ Racing Top Sport Coilovers — Ferrari PORTOFINO (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2017-2026

The Portofino’s factory magnetorheological damping is clever, expensive, and the first thing serious owners want out of the car the moment they start chasing a circuit setup. The Ferrari engineers tuned that system for a GT brief – long-legged cruising with a switchable firm mode – not for sustained loads through Druids or a third lap into Brands Hatch. This XYZ Racing Top Sport kit for the FE07-C Portofino replaces the entire adaptive system with a mechanically adjustable coilover, restoring control over spring rate, ride height and damping curve without leaving the dashboard throwing electronic warnings at you.

Because the Portofino’s front-mid V8 sits behind the front axle line and the gearbox is rear-mounted, weight distribution is closer to 50/50 than the GT silhouette suggests. With a properly set up coilover, the chassis stops loafing on its outside corner and starts working as a sports car – which is what the platform was always capable of.

What this coilover does for your 2017-2026 Ferrari Portofino

Spring rates lifted around 2kg/mm above standard – and damping firmed by roughly 30 to 50 percent against the OEM street tune – kill the dive under hard braking into Paddock Hill and stop the rear squatting on corner exit when you ask the 3.9 twin-turbo V8 for its full 592bhp. The result is a Portofino that turns in flatter, holds a line more honestly through long-radius corners, and stops washing the front end wide when the road surface deteriorates. Tyre contact improves over broken tarmac because the dampers actually absorb the hit rather than skipping the wheel across it. The cancellation module included in the kit talks to the Portofino’s CAN bus so the dashboard stops flagging the missing magneride struts – install it, drive it, and the car simply behaves like it has always had passive suspension.

About the Top Sport coilover

The Top Sport is XYZ Racing’s track-day-plus-street unit, built around a monotube damper body with adjustable preload and pillowball top mounts where the chassis allows. Spring rates run roughly 2kg/mm stiffer than a street-biased coilover and damping is calibrated 30 to 50 percent firmer than a typical road setup, which is the threshold XYZ have arrived at through their own circuit testing for a car that still needs to commute. The damper internals are valved to absorb the kind of square-edged impacts you find on a B-road or a kerb on a UK circuit without bouncing the chassis off its bump stops. Every setting on the Top Sport is drawn from XYZ’s own racing programme – the brief was a kit that can survive aggressive driving and repeated track sessions while remaining tolerable on the way home.

Fitment for the Ferrari Portofino (2017-2026)

Engineered specifically for the FE07-C Portofino across the 2017 to 2026 production run. This is the cancellation-kit variant – it includes the CAN bus interface module required to disable the factory magnetorheological damping and clear the associated dashboard warnings. Confirm your chassis code before ordering; the standard non-cancellation Portofino fitment is sold separately.
