XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Ferrari CALIFORNIA (Both front and rear top mount are 4 holes) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2014

A Ferrari California on a gravel stage is not a sentence anyone wrote in 2008, and that is precisely why this kit exists. The F149 California arrived with magnetorheological dampers tuned for tarmac GT duty, a 4.3-litre V8 over the front axle, and a chassis bias that always preferred fast sweepers to broken surfaces. Strip the electronic damping out, drop in a long-stroke inverted coilover built for rally cross, and the car becomes something the factory never imagined.

This is the XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the 2008-2014 Ferrari California with the four-hole front and rear top mount pattern, supplied with the cancellation kit that removes the original electronic damping signal. It is built for one job: keeping the wheels in contact with sandstone, gravel, snow or silt while the driver attacks at speed.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2014 Ferrari California

The Gravel Rally damper replaces the California’s tarmac-biased magnetic ride with a long-stroke suspension built to absorb impacts the original car was never meant to see. Inverted tube construction puts the larger-diameter shock body at the top, which improves bending stiffness when the lower leg takes a hit from a rock or a compression at speed. Longer springs and longer stroke mean the chassis can travel through ruts and crests without packing down or topping out, while the cancellation kit removes the dashboard fault code the original car would otherwise throw when it stops seeing the electronic damper signal. The result is a front-engined V8 GT that can be pointed at a loose surface and driven on the throttle, with the dampers actually working instead of bottoming out on the second compression.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

The Gravel Rally is XYZ Racing’s dedicated rally-cross and gravel-stage damper, and the brief is different from any tarmac coilover in the range. Rally cross is the most aggressive surface condition in motorsport, and the shock absorber is the single most-loaded component on the car during a stage. XYZ Racing developed the inverted tube layout specifically to cope with mixed surfaces – sandstone, snow, silt – where loads arrive from unpredictable directions. The long stroke and matched long spring are there to absorb chassis vibration on washboard, to take big hits on high-speed bouncy sections, and to bear the lateral G-force loads that arrive when a rally car is turned in on a loose surface. Every spring rate in the kit has been tested by working rally teams, which is the only meaningful validation for a damper of this type.

Fitment for the Ferrari California (2008-2014)

This kit fits the 2008-2014 Ferrari California with chassis code FE04-C, specifically the variant with four-hole top mount patterns at both the front and rear. The cancellation kit for the original electronic damping is included as part of the package, so no separate sourcing of a delete harness is required.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
