XYZ Racing Top Sport Coilovers — Ferrari 812 (without hydraulic lift system) 2017-2026

The 812 Superfast’s 6.5-litre F140 GA naturally-aspirated V12 puts 789bhp through the rear wheels of a 1,630kg front-mid-engined GT, and the factory magnetorheological damping was tuned to make that civilised on a B-road. The Top Sport coilover for the FE09 chassis exists for owners who want to take that same car onto Bedford, Cadwell or Spa without the body roll and float that surfaces once the OE dampers are asked to control a hot tyre.

This is the kit specified for cars without the front hydraulic lift system – the lower, simpler installation, with no nose-lifter to integrate or preserve. Spring rates and damping sit roughly 30-50% stiffer than the OE tune, which is enough to plant the front axle on turn-in without making the cabin unliveable on the drive home.

What this coilover does for your 2017-2026 Ferrari 812

The 812 carries serious mass over its front axle and asks a lot of its front tyres – particularly under trail-braking into a slow corner, where the OE setup will let the nose wash wide before the V12 has a chance to rotate the car. The Top Sport’s stiffer spring rates resist that dive and keep the contact patch loaded, so the steering stays talkative deeper into the corner.

Through fast direction changes the higher damping settles body movement quicker, which means you can commit to the second apex without waiting for the chassis to catch up. Ride height is adjustable, so you can drop the car to close the arch gap on track days and wind it back up for road clearance – useful on a car this long and this expensive to scrape. The kit is built around absorbing the heavy single impacts a 1.6-tonne GT generates over kerbs and broken tarmac, rather than buzzing the driver over every expansion joint.

About the Top Sport coilover

The Top Sport runs spring rates around 2kg/mm above the street tune and damping calibrated 30-50% firmer, drawing on settings developed in XYZ Racing’s own track programme. The brief is specific: absorb the hit when the car crosses a sharp ridge or a track kerb, suppress the secondary body movement that follows, and put the tyre back on the road as quickly as possible to keep traction live.

Construction is geared to dealing with the heat and load cycles of repeated lap sessions rather than the single hard launch a drag setup needs to survive. The result is a coilover that holds its damping characteristic across a session instead of fading to mush by the third lap. It is the Top Sport range’s defining position – aggressive enough for proper track use, civilised enough that you can drive the 812 to the circuit, run the day, and drive home.

Fitment for the Ferrari 812 (2017-2026)

This kit is specified for the FE09 chassis 812 (Superfast and GTS) built from 2017 to 2026, in the configuration without the factory hydraulic front lift system. If your car has the nose-lifter option fitted, the alternative FE09 part number is the one you need – the two are not interchangeable. Confirm your VIN-build sheet shows no lift system before ordering.
