XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S CABRIOLET (with hydraulic lift, excl.control system) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2019-2026

The 992 Carrera 4S Cabriolet was never conceived as a competition drift platform – but its rear-engine weight concentration and the PTM system’s capacity to bias drive rearward mean the chassis has more rotation potential than the AWD badge implies. Fit the Drift Spec coilovers alongside the included PASM cancellation kit, and you strip away the electronic damping system that was actively resisting the sustained oversteer angles competitive drift requires.

The open-body construction adds a specific challenge: the 992 Cabriolet carries less torsional stiffness than the coupe despite Porsche’s structural reinforcements, meaning the suspension geometry is already managing more chassis compliance through every transition. The Drift Spec package from XYZ Racing is calibrated for precisely this environment – the demands of competition drift on a car that starts life close to 1,750 kg.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S CABRIOLET

Competitive drift in a heavy AWD convertible asks the suspension to hold a consistent oversteer angle under sustained lateral load – a task PASM was never configured to support. This kit lowers the ride height to unlock the correct bump stroke geometry that drift technique depends on: too high and you exhaust compression travel mid-angle; too low and the chassis loses the mechanical feedback that tells you where the rear is tracking. The Drift Spec geometry is calibrated to stabilise the 992’s body during high-speed turning, helping the rear arc through a clean angle rather than stepping out unpredictably. The cancellation kit supplied with this fitment suppresses the fault codes that would otherwise fire continuously when PASM no longer detects its original dampers.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover is designed from a drift race brief rather than adapted from a road or circuit series. The development priority is stabilising the vehicle body through the high-speed turning arcs where competition drift is decided – controlling the angle from corner entry to exit, which is the window in which judges score and drivers manage mechanical grip. Ride height is adjustable, and the bump stroke is matched to the lowered geometry required once a drift setup is established: XYZ Racing’s position is that this relationship between ride height and stroke is what delivers the characteristic drift control response. The result is a setup engineered to help the driver achieve and hold a precise angle, rather than simply induce oversteer and hope.

Fitment for the Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S CABRIOLET (2019-2026)

This kit covers the 992-generation Porsche Carrera 4/S Cabriolet under chassis code PO27-C, spanning the 2019 to 2026 model years. A cancellation kit for the Porsche PASM electronic damping system is included – installation requires deactivating the OEM damper monitoring to prevent persistent fault codes and to give the aftermarket coilover full authority over damping behaviour. The front hydraulic lift mechanism is retained within this configuration; it is the electronic lift control system that is excluded from this specification.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
