XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Porsche 991 GT2/ RS (without hydraulic lift system) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2017-2026

The rear-engined 991 GT2 RS arrives from the factory with Porsche Active Suspension Management and a hydraulic front lift system – both well-suited to public road use, both superfluous on a sealed tarmac stage. Across a full competitive day, varying road surfaces, compressions at speed, and the sustained demands of stage after stage require mechanical damping behaviour that responds to the road rather than to algorithms calibrated for urban ground clearance. This XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover removes that variable entirely.

Fitment is specified without provision for the factory lift system, and a PASM cancellation kit is included so the 991 GT2 RS operates free of fault codes once the original electronic dampers are displaced. The car’s rear-biased weight distribution and rear-wheel-drive platform make suspension consistency a priority on stage – oversteer that arrives without warning is the consequence of damping that cannot keep the rear axle settled over broken tarmac.

What this coilover does for your 2017-2026 Porsche 991 GT2/ RS

The Tarmac Rally coilover’s primary contribution on stage is surface tracking – specifically, keeping the rear tyres in contact through the coarse, patched tarmac that characterises competitive roads in the middle and late finisher positions. The 911 platform’s rear weight bias means that when a rear tyre loses purchase, it loses it decisively; coilovers tuned for impact absorption over uneven surfaces reduce the severity of those moments by keeping both rear contact patches loaded through compressions. Large isolated bumps – the type that can upset the rear axle mid-corner on a factory-damped GT2 RS – are handled with controlled compression and rebound rather than the sharp jolt that feeds directly into vehicle direction. Body control becomes more consistent across varying surface conditions, and with it, rear-axle behaviour at speed becomes more predictable.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

Developed specifically for sealed-surface stage competition, this series addresses the challenge of uneven, patched, and degraded tarmac encountered at racing speeds – not the smooth surfaces of a circuit or test track. Damper calibration is focused on absorbing the impact of imperfect road surfaces, from the long-wave undulations of old asphalt to the abrupt vertical load of a compression taken at pace. Body shock suppression is a design priority: containing the transfer of an isolated bump into a lateral or yaw disturbance is what separates a correctable moment from a lost stage. Tyre traction follows directly from that approach – a suspended mass that tracks the surface consistently generates more grip than one bouncing between contact patches. Every setting in the Tarmac Rally specification has been drawn from XYZ Racing’s own competition programme on sealed stages, not adapted from road-car or circuit data.

Fitment for the Porsche 991 GT2/ RS (2017-2026)

This kit covers the Porsche 991 GT2/RS under chassis code PO18-C across the 2017 to 2026 model years. Fitment is for cars running without the factory hydraulic front lift system; the included cancellation kit suppresses PASM fault codes on vehicles originally equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management. Confirm your build specification against the chassis code before ordering.
