XYZ Racing Top Sport Coilovers — Mitsubishi ECLIPSE CROSS 4WD 2018-2026

The Eclipse Cross 4WD carries genuine weight over the front axle once you add the S-AWC hardware, and that mass wants to keep travelling in a straight line the moment you turn in. XYZ Racing’s Top Sport coilover is built to check that behaviour without turning the car into hard work on the motorway home.

This is the spec for owners who do the odd track day but live with the car the rest of the week. Damping and spring rate are both stepped up from road settings, enough to control the extra front-end load through a fast direction change, but the kit is tuned to stay civil over the broken tarmac most of us actually drive on.

What this coilover does for your 2018-2026 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 4WD

Lift the Eclipse Cross 4WD’s spring rate by around 2kg/mm over standard and the nose stops diving into corners the way a soft factory setup allows, which matters on a crossover carrying this much mass high in the chassis. The stiffer, monotube-style damping picks up 30-50% more control than the OE units, so instead of the body wallowing over a compression the wheel stays loaded and the tyre keeps its contact patch working. Hit a sharp ridge or a expansion joint at speed and the increased damping absorbs the hit rather than letting it kick through the subframe, which is where crossovers like this typically lose composure. The net result on the road is less body roll turning into a roundabout, and on track a front end that holds its line under trail braking instead of pushing wide. Ride height is adjustable through the kit, so you can drop the centre of gravity to suit the use case without touching spring rate.

About the Top Sport coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Top Sport settings from its own track-day racing programme, and the aim was a kit that could go from a fast road drive straight into a lapping session without a re-set. The spring and damping increase over street specification, roughly 30-50% more damping force and around 2kg/mm extra spring rate, is calibrated specifically to soak up big hits and rough surfaces rather than just stiffen everything up and hope. That matters because a coilover tuned only for smooth circuit tarmac can feel brutal on a British B-road, and one tuned only for comfort will fold under repeated hard cornering. The Top Sport kit sits deliberately between the two: enough control to suppress body movement and keep the tyre’s contact patch working under load, without the harshness that makes a car unpleasant to drive to the circuit in the first place. It is built for aggressive driving and track day use while still functioning as a daily-driven suspension setup, which is exactly the brief for a crossover platform that owners genuinely use both ways.

Fitment for the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 4WD (2018-2026)

Built specifically for the MT35 chassis Eclipse Cross in 4WD guise, covering the 2018 to 2026 model years. Confirm your S-AWC 4WD drivetrain specification before ordering, as this kit is engineered around that platform’s geometry rather than the front-wheel-drive variant.
