XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Infiniti G20 P10 1990-1997

The P10 G20 is one of the most overlooked rally weapons of the early-90s Nissan parts bin – SR20DE up front, FF layout, MacPherson struts that share their bones with the Primera that actually went stage-rallying in period. Drop one onto a forest stage on standard dampers and the platform crashes through its travel within the first compression; this is where the Gravel Rally coilover earns its keep.

XYZ Racing built this damper around a single brief: survive sandstone, snow, and silt without losing damping authority. The inverted-tube design and long-stroke construction give the P10 the wheel travel it needs to keep tyres planted over broken surfaces, while spring rates worked out on actual rally programmes stop the chassis hitting its bumpstops every time the road turns ugly.

What this coilover does for your 1990-1997 Infiniti G20 P10

Fitted to a P10, the Gravel Rally transforms how the front end behaves when the surface stops cooperating. The long-stroke damper absorbs the vertical hits that would otherwise unsettle the SR20’s weight over the nose, so the front tyres stay loaded through compressions and crests rather than skipping off line. Inverted-tube architecture moves the working mass lower in the strut, which sharpens turn-in response on loose surfaces where steering accuracy matters more than outright body control. The longer springs let the chassis breathe with the terrain rather than fight it, meaning the car can be driven harder into rough sections without the secondary bounce that scrubs speed mid-corner. For a platform whose factory damping was tuned for suburban commuting, the difference on a gravel road is measured in seconds, not feel.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This is a damper engineered around the demands of rally gravel and rallycross, where the surface is the most aggressive variable in motorsport. XYZ Racing uses an inverted-tube layout to handle the impact loads that come with sandstone, snow, and silt – three surfaces with completely different traction characteristics that the damper has to cope with on the same stage. The long stroke gives the wheel room to follow the road profile without the damper running out of travel, and the matched long spring carries enough free length to keep the tyre loaded under aggressive high-speed bouncy-road attack. Spring rate selection isn’t theoretical; every setting in the range has been worked out on actual rally programmes, where extreme lateral G-force in compression demands the damper resist body roll without going stiff enough to skip. It is purpose-narrow rather than purpose-broad – this is not a road coilover that can cope with a gravel stage, it is a gravel-stage coilover.

Fitment for the Infiniti G20 (1990-1997)

This kit is specified for the first-generation Infiniti G20, chassis code P10, covering the 1990 through 1997 model years. Confirm your VIN falls within the P10 production window before ordering – the second-generation P11 G20 from 1999 onward uses a different strut and is not covered by this fitment.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
