XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Hyundai IONIQ 5 NE 4WD 2022-2026

The IONIQ 5 NE 4WD carries its battery pack flat under the floor, which drops the centre of mass lower than almost anything else in the class but adds close to 300kg over a comparable combustion crossover. Add instant torque split between the front and rear motors and you get a car that will happily break traction the moment you ask it to – the difficulty is controlling where the rear end goes once it does.

XYZ Racing’s Drift Spec coilover is built around that specific problem rather than around outright grip. For competitive drifting the goal isn’t keeping the tyres hooked up, it’s managing weight transfer and body roll precisely enough that the car holds an angle instead of snapping through it, and that’s the job this kit is set up to do on the Hyundai IONIQ 5 NE 4WD.

What this coilover does for your 2022-2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 NE 4WD

Dropping the ride height on a car this heavy changes how the battery mass moves during a transition, and that’s exactly where this kit earns its keep. Reduced roll during the initiation phase means the rear motor’s torque goes into rotating the car rather than getting soaked up by suspension movement, so the angle you ask for is closer to the angle you get. The adjustable set-up lets you firm up the front to sharpen turn-in while keeping the rear settled enough to hold a slide instead of spinning out, which matters more on a dual-motor IONIQ 5 than on a lightweight rear-drive coupe simply because there’s more mass to manage through the transition. Owners running the NE 4WD on a drift line will also feel the difference in how quickly the car resets between linked corners.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Drift Spec range specifically for competition drifting rather than adapting a road or circuit kit to the job. The priority is body control through the entry and mid-phase of a slide: the valving keeps the body settled while the chassis loads and unloads at speed, so the drift angle stays consistent instead of drifting off-line as the run progresses. Ride height comes down as standard, and the kit is built around a bump stroke calculated to suit that lower height properly, rather than achieving drop by simply cutting the spring free length, so there’s still stroke left when the car loads up mid-corner. The result is a chassis that responds predictably when you countersteer and reapply throttle, instead of one that fights you for control of the slide once it’s committed.

Fitment for the Hyundai IONIQ 5 NE 4WD (2022-2026)

This kit is specced for the Hyundai IONIQ 5 NE 4WD, chassis code HY32, covering the 2022 to 2026 model years. It’s built around the dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout specifically, accounting for the extra unsprung mass and torque delivery at both axles rather than the lighter single-motor rear-drive version of the car.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
