XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz C CLASS W204 4 CYL (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2007-2014

The W204 C-Class’s factory setup was tuned for a comfortable German saloon ride, not for holding a line through a closed-stage tarmac special where the road surface changes character every fifty metres. XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover is built around that exact problem – absorbing the hit from broken tarmac, camber changes and mid-corner ridges without the body kicking sideways.

This kit is for the four-cylinder W204 running the modified rear-integrated mount configuration, and includes the cancellation kit needed to remove the factory electronic damping control so the car runs on the coilover’s own valving instead of fighting the OEM system. That matters on a car that left the factory with adaptive damping – you’re not overriding an active system mid-stage, you’re replacing it outright.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2014 Mercedes Benz C Class

Fitted to a 2007-2014 W204, this coilover keeps the front axle loaded through compressions and crests that would otherwise unsettle the standard suspension, so the car keeps generating grip rather than skipping across the surface. The damper absorbs big hits – the kind of pavement break or pothole edge a stage throws up mid-corner – without transmitting a harsh shock back through the chassis, which keeps the tyre in contact with the road instead of momentarily unloading it. Because the setup is derived from XYZ’s own tarmac rally programme rather than a generic road-spec valving curve, the compression and rebound balance is aimed specifically at repeated, unpredictable surface changes rather than smooth circuit tarmac. The result on the W204 is a car that tracks straighter under braking into a junction and resists the rear stepping wide when the surface drops away on exit.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally coilover is XYZ Racing’s damper specifically for sealed-stage tarmac rally use, built to take repeated hits from uneven and broken road surfaces without the body absorbing the shock itself. Internally it’s set up to soak up large bumps and compressions cleanly, keeping the impact away from the chassis and, critically, keeping the tyre’s contact patch loaded through the hit rather than letting it skip. That translates into a more stable, predictable car through direction changes – the kind of composure a crew needs when the next corner is blind and the surface underneath it is unknown. XYZ has carried that valving knowledge directly over from its own tarmac rally programme, so the damping settings reflect real stage conditions rather than a road-going compromise. On the W204’s modified rear-integrated mount layout, that means a rear end that stays planted under load transfer instead of hopping across ruts and camber changes.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz C Class (2007-2014)

This coilover is built for the Mercedes Benz C Class W204, four-cylinder, 2007-2014, using the modified rear-integrated mount configuration. It includes the cancellation kit required to disable the factory electronic damping control on cars fitted with it, so the OEM adaptive system is fully removed from the equation rather than left to interfere with the new dampers.
