XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Honda CIVIC TYPE-R FK2 (Modified Rear lntegrated) 2015-2017

The FK2 Civic Type R’s front-wheel-drive, turbocharged K20C1 layout puts weight transfer and throttle input at odds with the classic rear-wheel-drive drift script, and it’s precisely that awkward physics the XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover is built to manage. Where a rear-driven car simply needs power to break traction, an FK2 running drift lines needs a chassis that holds its attitude through the transition instead of one that snaps or washes wide the moment the front tyres unload.

This kit drops the FK2 onto a stiffer, more controllable base and gives the driver a platform that keeps body movement in check while the car is deliberately kept out of shape. It is built for competitive drifting, not fast-road commuting, and the set-up window reflects that.

What this coilover does for your Honda CIVIC TYPE-R FK2 (Modified Rr lntegrated) (2015-2017)

Once fitted, the FK2 sits lower and holds its body far more predictably through the high-speed direction changes that competitive drifting demands. The core job of this coilover is stabilising the car’s body while it is turning hard at speed, so the front end stops fighting the driver mid-transition and the rear stays settled enough to hold a consistent angle rather than snapping in and out of it. Ride height comes down as part of the set-up, and with the bump stroke correctly configured, the chassis has the travel it needs to load and unload cleanly instead of bottoming out or ballooning the arches. For a car already sending well over 300bhp through the front axle, that kind of body control is what turns an aggressive slide into one that can be held, corrected, and repeated.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Drift Spec line specifically around the demands of drift competition rather than adapting a road or circuit coilover for the job. The core design brief is body control while turning at speed: the damper and spring combination is set up to keep the chassis settled through a slide so the car can be steered into and held at an aggressive angle rather than fighting the driver for it. That stability is what separates a controlled drift line from one that is constantly being caught and re-caught. Ride height reduction is part of the package, and getting the bump stroke right is treated as central to the set-up rather than an afterthought, because a drift car that bottoms out mid-slide loses the very body control the kit exists to provide. The result is a coilover tuned to let a driver commit to an angle, hold it, and transition out of it on their own terms, which is the point of running a dedicated Drift Spec kit instead of a generic performance coilover.

Fitment for the Honda CIVIC TYPE-R FK2 (Modified Rr lntegrated) (2015-2017)

This kit is built for the Honda Civic Type R FK2, chassis code HN67, covering the 2015 to 2017 model years in the Modified Rr lntegrated configuration. Confirm your car matches this chassis code and year range before ordering, as running changes across the FK2’s production life can affect exact fitment.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
