XYZ Racing Pro Rally Coilovers — BMW 4 SERIES F82 M4 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2014-2020

The F82 M4 leaves the factory running BMW’s Adaptive M suspension, an electronically controlled damper system that reads the road and adjusts compression and rebound through the car’s EDC module in real time. That electronics package is the first thing to strip out of a rally build, and this Pro Rally kit is built around removing it cleanly: mechanically adjustable, manually controlled dampers paired with a cancellation kit so the M4’s ECU stops searching for damper solenoids it no longer has and throwing faults across the dash.

Gravel and snow stages ask something different of an S55-powered, rear-driven coupe than a circuit does – traction over loose, shifting surfaces, big compression events through ruts and crests, and a rear axle that has to stay planted through transitions rather than just mid-corner. This is the professional-spec build of the two rally suspension types: the rear geometry is reworked and integrated into a modified subframe and body mount rather than bolted straight to the standard F82 pickup points, which is what allows the travel and geometry changes a top-flight rally build needs to actually happen.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2020 BMW 4 Series F82 M4

Cutting the factory EDC electronics out and replacing them with manually adjustable damping means the rear end reacts the way the driver sets it up, not the way a software map guesses a road surface should be treated – critical when that surface changes from hardpack to loose gravel to snow inside one stage. Independent height adjustment lets you run the ground clearance a rutted forest road demands without giving up the geometry the S55’s torque needs to put down on loose grip. The modified rear-integrated mounting spreads suspension loads into the body rather than concentrating them at the M4’s standard subframe points, which matters when wheel travel goes well beyond anything the road car was designed around. Removing the electronic damper hardware also strips weight and complexity from a corner of the car that, on a rally stage, has no use for a comfort-biased adaptive map.

About the Pro Rally coilover

XYZ Racing splits its rally gravel and snow suspension line into two builds. The amateur-spec kit installs directly onto the original chassis mounting points, no bodywork changes required. This is the professional-spec kit: it’s designed to go in after the car’s body has already been modified, with a rear-integrated mounting scheme built specifically for the F82 M4’s layout and a cancellation kit that neutralises the factory electronic damping control so the car runs clean on fully manual dampers. It’s aimed at drivers running or building toward top-flight rally competition, where the suspension has to survive repeated, sustained abuse over unpredictable terrain rather than a single clean lap.

Fitment for the BMW 4 Series F82 M4 (2014-2020)

Built for the F82-generation M4 (chassis code BM93-C), covering the full 2014-2020 production run. This SKU is specifically the modified rear-integrated variant with the cancellation kit for BMW’s electronic damping – confirm your car’s rear subframe has already been prepped for the integrated mounting before ordering, as this kit is not a bolt-in for a standard, unmodified F82 rear end.

Rally gravel/snow suspensions are very professional suspensions and they are designed into two types:

1. Be installed directly with the original chassis. (Amateur type)
2. Be installed after modifying the car body. (Professional type)

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
