XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — BMW 4 SERIES F82 M4 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2014-2020

The F82 M4 left the factory with electronically controlled adaptive dampers tied to its drive modes, which is exactly the system a gravel-stage build needs stripped out before anything mechanical goes near the corners. This Gravel Rally coilover pairs with a cancellation kit for the factory electronic damping, so the car’s electronics stop hunting for a module that’s no longer there and the suspension runs on fixed, driver-set mechanical damping instead.

Gravel Rally spec is built for the punishment a closed stage or rallycross event throws at a chassis – sudden compression over crests, repeated hard landings, and grip that changes metre to metre. On a twin-turbo, rear-driven coupe like the M4, that means damping and spring rates chosen to control the car under impact rather than just resist body roll in a fast corner.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2020 BMW 4 Series F82 M4

With the factory electronic damping cancelled out, the car stops relying on a road-biased adaptive curve and runs on the fixed valving this kit ships with, so damping response stays consistent whether the surface underneath is loose gravel, hardpack, or a mix of both across one stage. The long-stroke, inverted-tube design gives the rear-biased mass of the M4 somewhere to go when the suspension is absorbing repeated high-speed compressions, rather than topping or bottoming out on the third or fourth hit of a rough section. Ride height adjusts independently front and rear through the threaded body, so you can correct the nose-down stance the factory set-up carries at rest and get the weight distribution closer to what a rally-prepped F82 actually wants. Because the damper is built to take extreme load through direction changes, the M4’s wide rear track stays settled under turning instead of the chassis wallowing on springs that were never meant for anything rougher than a B-road pothole.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Gravel Rally coilover specifically for rally and rallycross events, where road surfaces such as sandstone, snow and silt put more strain on a damper than a circuit ever will. It uses an inverted tube layout so the more vulnerable internals sit higher in the assembly, away from the stones and debris a gravel stage throws up at the lower suspension. A long stroke, matched to a correspondingly long spring, gives the damper the travel to absorb chassis vibration and soak up the repeated hard hits of a fast, uneven stage without running out of movement mid-corner. The spring rates aren’t a desk-based guess – XYZ’s own rally racing team tested the settings directly, so the numbers reflect what holds up when a car is driven hard over broken ground rather than what reads well on a spec sheet.

Fitment for the Bmw 4 Series F82 M4 (Modified Rr Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2014-2020)

This kit is mapped to the F82-generation BMW M4, internal fitment code BM93-C, covering the 2014 to 2020 production run. The listing includes the modified rear integration and the cancellation kit needed to remove the factory electronic damping control from the loop, so the mechanical dampers run cleanly without the car flagging a fault for a missing EDC module.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
