XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES F34 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik. xDrive & EDC) (Modified Rear Integrated) 2013-2026

The F34 body sits on a longer wheelbase than the standard F30 saloon it is based on, and carries a heavier glass tailgate over the rear axle – weight that shows up exactly where a gravel stage punishes a car hardest, in the transition from a crest into a compression under trail-braking. This 4/6-cylinder, non-xDrive, non-EDC version carries no adaptive damper electronics to fight or bypass, which makes it a cleaner base for a fully mechanical rally set-up than the M-Technik or xDrive cars in the same range.

XYZ Racing’s Gravel Rally coilover is built for that exact car and that exact surface. It replaces the factory strut with an inverted-tube damper made for rally and rallycross use, where the road can flip from sandstone to snow to silt inside a single stage, and where the shock absorber, not the tyre and not the aero, is the part actually deciding whether the car stays composed.

What this coilover brings to your 2013-2026 BMW 3 Series F34

Long-stroke, long-spring construction gives the F34’s rear end somewhere to go when a compression arrives mid-corner, instead of transmitting the hit straight into the chassis and unsettling the back of the car under power. That matters more on this platform than on the shorter F30 saloon, because the GT’s extra mass sits further back and further up. The inverted-tube layout keeps the damper working through repeated high-speed impacts on broken surfaces without the internals fading the way a lighter road-biased strut would. Spring rates on this kit were set using data from an active rally programme rather than a road-car baseline, so the car settles rather than pogos over consecutive gravel crests, and holds a line under the cornering loads a loose surface actually generates rather than the lower loads a tarmac spec assumes.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Gravel Rally coilover specifically for rally and rallycross rather than adapting a track-day part to loose surfaces. Gravel-stage roads are the most aggressive condition XYZ tests against, which is why the damper uses an inverted-tube design: the thicker tube sits on the outside, protecting the working shaft from stone strikes and the debris a sandstone, snow or silt surface throws up. A long stroke and a correspondingly long spring absorb chassis vibration that would otherwise transmit straight through a shorter-travel unit, and give the damper room to work when the car bounces hard at speed rather than bottoming out. The spring rate settings supplied with this kit come from testing carried out by a rally racing team, not a desk calculation, which is the detail that separates a gravel-specific damper from a general-purpose coilover with a taller spring fitted.

Fitment for the Bmw 3 Series F34 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik, xDrive & EDC) (Modified Rr Integrated) (2013-2026)

This kit is built for the F34-chassis (BM101) BMW 3 Series across 2013 to 2026, covering both 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine variants. It excludes M-Technik, xDrive and EDC-equipped cars, and uses a modified rear mount with shock and spring integrated as a single assembly rather than the factory’s separate arrangement.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
