XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — BMW 2 SERIES F87 M2 (excl. M2C) (Modified Rear Integrated) 2016-2021

The F87 M2’s short wheelbase and S55-derived power mean any loss of traction off a smooth surface arrives fast, and needs a suspension that can absorb it rather than just resist it. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover for the BMW 2 Series F87 M2 (excl. M2C) is built around that exact problem: longer front and rear travel that keeps the tyre in contact with loose ground instead of skipping across it.

Where a road or circuit-biased Pro Racing coilover chases minimum ride height and maximum lateral grip, this Gravel/Snow specification does the opposite job. It is set up for rally and rallycross-style use, or anywhere the M2 is going to see gravel, mud or snow rather than fresh tarmac, with the oil capacity and damping range to match.

What this coilover does for your 2016-2021 BMW 2 Series F87 M2 (excl. M2C)

On this M2, the biggest gain is stability over repeated hits rather than outright cornering speed. The increased suspension oil and nitrogen gas volume gives the damper more thermal headroom, so oil temperature stays under control through a long rally stage or a rutted rallycross lap rather than climbing until the shock starts to fade. Three external adjustment knobs let you tune compression and rebound independently front and rear to suit the surface on the day, from packed gravel to fresh snow. Because the internal oil passages at each knob are deliberately small, you may hear a faint noise from the damper when the car crosses a hard bump – that is oil moving through those passages as designed, not a fault, and it has no bearing on how the coilover performs. The extended front and rear travel also cuts the risk of the M2 bottoming out on a compression you would not expect on a smooth road.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

XYZ Racing built the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow line specifically for rally racing and rallycross, where a coilover has to survive repeated hard hits rather than one clean corner. Front and rear travel is extended beyond the standard Pro Racing spec, giving the suspension a bigger buffer before it runs out of stroke on a rough compression. Suspension oil volume and nitrogen gas charge are both increased over a standard road or circuit damper, which keeps internal temperatures in check and stops the shock oil from cooking during a long stage or session. Damping is adjusted through three external knobs, and the internal passages at each knob are intentionally small – a design choice that can produce a faint noise over big bumps, which is expected and not a sign of wear. The result is a coilover built to keep working through repeated rough-terrain sessions rather than one designed around a single smooth circuit.

Fitment for the Bmw 2 Series F87 M2 (excl. M2C) (2016-2021)

This kit is built for the F87-chassis BMW 2 Series M2, excluding the M2 Competition, covering the 2016 to 2021 model years, with a modified rear integration to suit this specific variant. Confirm your car matches the F87 M2 (excl. M2C) designation before ordering, as the M2 Competition uses a different rear subframe and is not covered by this fitment.

If your F87 M2 is heading onto gravel, mud or snow rather than a circuit, this is the Pro Racing spec built for that job – configure yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
