XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Subaru BRZ 2012-2021

Competitive drifting asks a different question of a Subaru BRZ than a clean track-day lap does. The car’s rear-drive flat-four layout and low centre of gravity make it easy to provoke, but holding a big angle at speed – and transitioning cleanly between corners – depends on a suspension that keeps the body settled when the rear steps out. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover is built for exactly that work.

This is not a fast-road kit pressed into competition duty. The Pro Racing Drift Spec for the 2012-2021 Subaru BRZ is set up to stabilise the chassis through high-speed direction changes, so the driver can place the car on a chosen line and hold it there rather than fight a vague, pitching platform.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2021 Subaru BRZ

On a BRZ, the FA20’s modest output means car control, not outright grip, decides a run – and that is where this coilover earns its place. Lowering the ride height drops the centre of gravity further and tightens body movement, so weight transfer during initiation becomes sharper and more predictable. The matched bump stroke keeps the suspension working through its travel instead of crashing into its limits mid-corner, which is what lets you commit to angle with confidence. Three independent adjustment knobs hand you control over the damping, so the rear can be set to break away progressively while the front stays planted enough to steer. The result is a BRZ that answers throttle and steering inputs the way a drift car needs to, with the body held flat through transitions.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

The Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover is engineered specifically for drift competition, not adapted from a road kit. Its design is aimed at one goal: keeping the body stable while the car is turning hard at speed, so the driver can set and sustain a clean angle. XYZ Racing built the kit around lowering the ride height with a correctly matched bump stroke – get that relationship right and the quality of the drift control is obvious from the first session. The kit runs three adjustment knobs, and the damper internals use a small oil-passage design; when you hit a large bump, oil is forced through that narrow passage and the coilover can make a faint noise. That is normal and expected, a by-product of the valving rather than a fault. This is a circuit-track product, built on the assumption that the bumps it meets are the ones found on a competition surface.

Fitment for the Subaru BRZ (2012-2021)

This kit is matched to the Subaru BRZ, chassis code SU00, covering the 2012 to 2021 model years – the first-generation rear-drive car. Confirm your build year falls within that span before configuring. The fitment is specific to the BRZ platform as listed; no other trim or chassis details are specified for this application.

If you are running a BRZ in competition and want a suspension built around holding angle rather than chasing lap times, this is the kit – configure yours for your 2012-2021 car below.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
