XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Nissan MAXIMA A33 1999-2003

The A33 Maxima hangs a transverse VQ V6 over its driven front wheels, and on a loose surface that nose-heavy, front-drive balance is exactly what bites: the front washes wide on turn-in, the lightly loaded rear skips over ruts, and the soft factory tune lets the whole car heave. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover for the Nissan Maxima A33 is aimed straight at that behaviour – a long-travel damper that keeps all four tyres planted when the surface turns to gravel, snow or broken tarmac.

This is the rally and rallycross end of the range, not a low-slung circuit kit. Extended front and rear travel plus a larger oil and gas volume let the 1999-2003 Maxima absorb stage-surface punishment without the damper topping out or overheating, where a short-stroke tarmac coilover would run out of stroke and fade.

What this coilover does for your 1999-2003 Nissan Maxima A33

On a rough or low-grip surface the extra suspension travel is the headline gain: the front axle stays in contact through compressions and yumps instead of pattering, so the heavy nose actually puts power down rather than ploughing on. The larger oil and nitrogen capacity means the damping holds its character over a long stage or session, so the car feels the same on the final run as it did on the first. Three adjustment knobs let you set the Maxima up softer for snow and slush or firmer for hard-packed gravel, and the long stroke gives you the ground clearance and compliance a lowered street kit simply cannot offer this 1999-2003 sedan.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This damper is engineered for rally and rallycross use rather than smooth circuit work. Both front and rear units run longer travel than a road or track coilover, increasing the buffer distance so the car stays settled when the surface gets violent. A key part of the design is the enlarged reservoir of suspension oil and nitrogen gas: the bigger fluid and gas volume keeps the shock stable and stops the oil temperature climbing to the point of fade during sustained, hard use. Adjustment runs through three knobs feeding a small-orifice oil passage. One consequence of that fine-passage design is a faint working noise when the damper is shoved hard over big hits, as the oil is forced through the small port – this is normal operation, not a fault. It is a robust, high-capacity unit built to take repeated impacts without giving up.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
