XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Ford TIERRA 1998-2002

Loose surfaces punish a light front-drive saloon, and the Ford Tierra – the Taiwan-market sibling of the Mazda 323/Familia – leaves the factory with short-travel struts that run out of stroke the moment a gravel or snow stage turns rough. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover answers that directly, with deliberately longer travel front and rear so the chassis keeps its wheels loaded over crests, ruts and compressions instead of crashing into the bump stops.

This is a rally and rallycross damper first, not a tarmac lowering kit. On a nose-led platform like the Tierra, the extra buffer distance is what lets you carry commitment into a corner you cannot fully see, keeping the car settled when the surface changes under you.

What this coilover does for your 1998-2002 Ford Tierra

The longer stroke gives the front axle room to soak up loose-surface hits without unloading the tyre, which on a front-drive Tierra is the difference between drive out of a corner and a scrabbling, understeering nose. The larger oil and gas volume inside each damper keeps fade at bay on long stages, so the rebound control you set at the start of a run is still there at the end. Three adjustment knobs let you tune the car for a fast gravel road one weekend and a snow-packed surface the next. Stance and ride height come down to your event, not a fixed drop, and the result is a Tierra that stays composed where the standard suspension would be skipping and deflecting.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This is XYZ Racing’s loose-surface specification, built for rally and rallycross rather than smooth circuits. The defining feature is travel: both ends gain stroke over a standard or tarmac coilover, creating a bigger buffer zone that keeps the car stable when the surface drops away. To support that, each unit carries a larger reservoir of shock oil and nitrogen gas, which resists the heat build-up that exhausts a smaller damper over repeated long-distance use. Adjustment runs through three separate knobs, giving independent control to suit gravel, snow and the loadings of a hard rally pace. The small oil-hole design inside those passages can produce a faint sound as oil moves through under big impacts – that is normal behaviour for this type of damper, not a fault, and reflects how the valving manages large bumps.

Fitment for the Ford Tierra (1998-2002)

This kit is built for the Ford Tierra, chassis code FO20, covering the 1998 to 2002 model years. It is a direct-fit application for that chassis span. Confirm your exact model year against the configurator before ordering to make sure the specification matches your car.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
