XYZ Racing Pro Rally Coilovers — Ford TIERRA 1998-2002

Point a Ford Tierra at a loose gravel stage and the shortcomings of its road suspension surface quickly: the soft factory damping that suits Taiwanese B-roads runs out of control the moment the surface breaks up into stones, ruts and compressions. The XYZ Racing Pro Rally coilover exists for that exact environment – top-flight rally competition on gravel and snow, where the Tierra’s light, front-driven Mazda BJ Familia underpinnings need genuine wheel control rather than ride comfort.

This is not a lowering kit reworked for stage duty. The Pro Rally package is a dedicated competition suspension built around loose-surface use, and it is offered in two build philosophies so it can match how far your Tierra has been prepared – one version bolts straight to the standard shell, the other assumes the bodywork has already been modified for motorsport.

What this coilover kit does for your 1998-2002 Ford Tierra

On a slippery stage the Tierra lives and dies by front-axle traction, and that is where this coilover earns its place. Longer, better-managed damper travel keeps the driven front wheels loaded over corrugations and crests where a road damper would skip and go light, so the car puts its power down instead of scrabbling. Ride height is set for ground clearance over rough going rather than tarmac stance, protecting the floor and keeping the geometry working when the surface drops away. Spring and damper rates suited to gravel and snow let the chassis absorb big single hits without crashing through to the bumpstops, which means the driver can commit through rough sections with the front end still steering. The result is a Tierra that stays composed and predictable when the road runs out.

About the Pro Rally coilover

The Pro Rally is XYZ Racing’s gravel-and-snow rally suspension, sitting at the professional end of their competition range rather than the fast-road catalogue. It is specified in two distinct configurations to suit the level of car preparation. The first is an amateur-grade build designed to install directly onto the original chassis, requiring no structural changes to the car. The second is a full professional build intended to be fitted after the body has been modified for motorsport use, allowing the suspension to be packaged for the loads and travel that serious stage work demands. Both share the same focus on long-travel loose-surface control, valving suited to broken ground, and the durability a rally car needs over a stage rather than a single lap. The two-tier approach means the kit can follow a Tierra from clubman entry through to a properly prepared competition shell.

Fitment for the Ford Tierra (1998-2002)

This kit is specified for the Ford Tierra on the FO20 chassis, covering the 1998 to 2002 production span. The Tierra is the Taiwan-built saloon derived from the Mazda BJ-generation Familia/323 platform, so the front-drive layout and mounting points are shared with that car. Confirm your build year falls inside the 1998-2002 range and choose the amateur or professional configuration based on how far your shell has been prepared.
