XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Ford TELSTAR 1993-1997

The FO18 Telstar carries the bones of Mazda’s GE-generation 626 – a transverse, front-driven saloon Ford signed off for showroom comfort, with long suspension travel and soft damping that lets the body roll and pitch the moment you load it. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover is built to take that compliance out of the equation, dropping the ride height and tightening the platform so the Telstar’s chassis stops fighting you mid-corner.

This is the competition end of the range. Where a fast-road kit chases compliance, the Pro Racing Drift Spec is set up for circuit use and the deliberate, sustained slip angles drifting demands. For a 1993-1997 Telstar being built as a track or drift hack rather than a daily, this is the coilover that matches the intent.

What this coilover does for your 1993-1997 Ford Telstar

Lowering the FO18 on a properly matched bump stroke does two things at once: it pulls the centre of gravity down, and it gives you a body that stays flat under the violent weight transfer of initiating and holding a slide. The three adjustment knobs let you set damping to suit your tyre, surface and driving style, so the front end bites on turn-in and the rear stays readable as you wind on lock. On a thirty-year-old saloon whose original dampers are long past their best, the gain in body control is immediate – sharper response, far less wallow, and a platform you can actually feel through the seat. The trade-off is honest: this is a stiff, low, circuit-focused setup, not a comfort upgrade.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

The Pro Racing Drift Spec is engineered specifically for drift competition rather than adapted from a road kit. Its job is to keep the body stable through high-speed direction changes so the driver can hold a clean, sustained angle, and the geometry is built around lowering the car with a correct bump stroke to keep that control consistent. Damping is governed by three adjustment knobs, giving a wide spread of settings to tune to track and conditions. One trait worth knowing: the design uses a small oil-hole passage, so over large bumps the oil moving through that restricted passage can produce a faint noise. That is normal and inherent to the valving, not a fault – the kit is intended for the relatively smooth surfaces of circuit tracks, where bump intrusion is not a concern.

Fitment for the Ford Telstar (1993-1997)

This kit is cut for the Ford Telstar, FO18 chassis, across the 1993-1997 model years. Confirm your car matches that chassis code and year span before ordering. The FO18 shares much of its hardware with the contemporary Mazda 626 and Capella, but the fitment specified here is to the Telstar.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
