XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Porsche 991 CARRERA-2/S/TURBO (without hydraulic lift system) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2011-2019

The 991’s rear-biased weight distribution – more than half the car’s mass sitting aft of the driven axle – is what rally-stage tarmac exposes most brutally. Compressions load the rear tyres harder than the front; crests unload them at speed; and the standard PASM calibration, tuned for road comfort and track-day use, carries none of the rally-specific development needed to manage those transitions cleanly on patched, crowned, or broken public roads.

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover addresses sealed-stage use directly. The damper settings come from tarmac rally competition work – not from adapted road or circuit applications – and for a 991 running closed public roads at pace, that provenance matters.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2019 Porsche 991 Carrera-2/S/Turbo

On a rear-engine 911, the back dampers manage the driven wheels and the majority of the car’s weight simultaneously. Over rough, uneven rally tarmac, a damper that absorbs the jolt of large bumps without transmitting that energy into body movement keeps the rear tyres more consistently loaded – traction holds through the impact rather than spiking and dropping.

The front axle runs with the PASM electronics cancelled rather than replaced. This kit includes the cancellation unit that prevents fault codes from appearing in the 991’s ECU when the factory electronic dampers are removed; the result is a clean, stable front end with no warning lights or overridden systems interfering with the car’s behaviour on stage.

Body movement suppression across uneven surfaces is the defining gain: the 991 stays planted and predictable through the quick, varied inputs of a tarmac stage, where body float on a standard setup can compromise exit traction at exactly the wrong moment.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally range is built for closed-road tarmac competition. The dampers are calibrated to absorb the impact of uneven and patched road surfaces – the bump energy encountered at competition pace on real public roads, not the controlled surfaces of a race circuit.

The core design priority is bump absorption that suppresses body movement rather than transmitting it. Keeping the tyre in contact with a variable road surface, and keeping traction loads stable through the moment of impact, is what the Tarmac Rally specification is tuned for. Vehicle stability across this sort of terrain is the measurable benchmark – handling consistency that comes from damper settings refined through XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally programme rather than from adapting a road or circuit setup.

For the 991 specifically, this kit is configured for cars without the factory hydraulic front lift system, and bundles the PASM cancellation unit as standard.

Fitment for the Porsche 991 Carrera-2/S/Turbo (2011-2019)

This kit covers the Porsche 991 Carrera 2, Carrera S, and Turbo variants from 2011 to 2019, under chassis code PO31-C. It is specified for cars not fitted with the factory hydraulic front lift system. The electronic damping cancellation kit is included as standard for PASM-equipped cars – required to prevent the 991’s active suspension ECU from generating persistent fault codes after the factory damper units are replaced.
